As digital marketers and website owners, it is crucial to stay ahead of these updates and ensure that our content is of the highest quality. Google's next core update, focused on combating low-quality content and prioritizing user experience, is scheduled for May 2024. This update signifies a shift towards content that truly informs and engages users. 1. USE OF AUTOMATION If you are using complete automation to generate content in your websites, then you need to stop them and produce only high quality and original content. The use of automation has led to the decrease in value of good and legible content. What you need to do? Remove or update the content pieces that solely created with AI for traffic and keyword ranking purposes, before May 5 since google has updated its spam policy. The use of Automation cannot be completely avoided. However, it is better to use it as a medium for brainstorming, which will help you reduce time and improve productivity. 2. MISUSING SITE Are you among the people who accept guest posts of less value in your highly reputed site? This results in the original content being pushed back. What you need to do? Make sure you remove or update the low quality guest posts your website has published because google can report you as spam. 3. USE OF EXPIRED SITES Purchasing and repurposing expired sites in order to secure a higher rating among the search engines is a false play. Expired sites will only mislead the users and not provide content that is useful. What you need to do? Deleting expired sites you own is not necessary. Google will take action against expired domains misused for spam Analyze your content: Does it answer the user's search intent? Is it well-supported with facts and evidence? Is it clear, concise, and engaging? To help you with Google's Content Quality Update (May 2024), I've created a comprehensive SaaS Content Marketing Cheatsheet. SEO Bros.... is it over? The article ends with a question: "how do you gain visibility if Google refuses to index most of your content?" Here's a few ways to do so: 1. Rank organically in other search engines - Google may be the largest, but they're not the only one 2. Post your content outside of your website - Google is not the only place to connect with customers 3. Piggyback off of sites that already rank well - If you can get your content (or links to your content) onto a site that Google has deemed authoritative, do it Excellent article Vincent Schmalbach! https://lnkd.in/dyk3g5mm

Google's latest core update emphasizes the importance of genuine, high-quality content that truly benefits users. It reflects their ongoing commitment to enhancing search results by prioritizing sites that provide valuable and original information. As someone involved in content creation or digital marketing, I believe this reinforces the need to focus on creating authentic and useful content rather than content aimed purely at manipulating search rankings. Moving forward, we should: 1. Audit and Improve Content: Review existing content to ensure it meets high-quality standards and provides real value to the audience. 2. Focus on User Experience: Prioritize user satisfaction by ensuring our content is relevant, original, and helpful. 3. Stay Updated: Keep track of any changes in search performance and adjust strategies as needed to align with the new update. This approach will help maintain or even improve our search visibility while adhering to Google's focus on quality.

💡 In March, Google implemented a significant global update that will have a profound impact on website ranking strategies. This update marks the most substantial change in recent memory and is designed to reduce the prevalence of spam in search results by up to 40%. 🔔 The primary changes encompass: ✔ Filtering out websites with manipulative or low-quality information. Manipulative practices include the creation of numerous pages solely to manipulate search engine rankings, rather than offering genuinely valuable information to users. The new policy empowers Google to take action against low-quality, mass-generated content, regardless of the methods used for its creation— be it AI-driven, human-authored, or a blend of both. ➡ To circumvent filtering: avoid content creation methods that compromise its quality, content should be well-crafted, engaging, and easily digestible. ✔ Monitoring abuse of expired domains. Acquiring expired domain names with the intent to manipulate search engine rankings by hosting subpar content constitutes misuse. While a domain’s prior reputation may result in high rankings, the content of such nature fails to serve users’ needs. Consequently, such manipulative tactics may lead to the spread of low-quality content oriented solely toward search engines. Additionally, maintaining the thematic relevance of content will become an important ranking factor. ➡ To evade filtering: conduct thorough assessments of the thematic alignment of expired domains before acquisition to ensure compatibility with your website’s theme. ✔ Control over the use of website reputation. The algorithm recognizes content aiming to manipulate search rankings and blocks content placed without appropriate oversight by the hosting website. Specifically, native advertising or content tailored for regular readers, devoid of intent to manipulate rankings, will not be flagged as violations. Misuse of website reputation, such as manipulating search engine rankings through third-party content placement without the primary website’s consent, will be blocked. ➡ To avoid consequences: exercise caution when sourcing content from external channels, ensuring its uniqueness and accuracy. In conclusion, Google aims to improve the quality of search results by prioritizing high-quality content. By following the established guidelines and steering clear of manipulative tactics, your website will remain shielded from filtering or penalties. #google #update #website #ranking #spam #site #content #quality #jsn

The Algorithm Exposed: Google Reveals Its Closely-Guarded Content Ranking Tactics The goal of Google's search ranking is to provide high-quality, trustworthy, and relevant results to users. Google interprets search queries by removing stop words, identifying entities, and expanding queries. Query expansion allows similar queries to be combined, broadening the reach of relevant webpages. Hundreds of factors determine relevance, with webpage content being the most important, along with user location, language, and device type. Gary Illyes emphasizes the importance of unique content for ranking, not just in terms of literal uniqueness but also in being unlike other content altogether. Search features displayed by Google are query-dependent, meaning they vary based on the user's query. P.S. Want to stay informed on the latest in marketing trends ?
