The founder of #Riga-based theIntelligent VC Andrei Doktoroff has acquired an application for creating stores Sellz | Telegram App. The investor plans to launch it as a startup next year with a new team. In the near future, the company will also focus on improving customer support, promoting the product, and raising an investment round. Sellz is a bot service that allows users to create an online store on Telegram without the help of a developer. It enables adding categories of digital products, such as eBooks, music, videos, fonts, and designs, as well as physical products - clothing, cosmetics, food, electronics, and home decor, directly through Telegram, select the desired payment, and start selling. Sellz has premium features such as payment provider integration. Customers of the store need to send the /start command to the bot, which will display a button that links directly to the store. Founded in Riga, theIntelligent VC is a venture company focused on early-stage AI-powered startups. To receive investment, the startups must demonstrate "at least minimal" traction through sales, contracts, or other tangible indicators of market validation. Tinder for startups The American #startupday Cherub brings together early-stage startups and investors - a hackneyed topic, but I have never seen such an option before. The peculiarity of the platform is determined by the monetization model - it is a subscription from a startup, costing a thousand dollars a year. For this money, the founder gets the opportunity to create a profile and Data Room, and, most importantly, access to the investor base and the opportunity to tease them. For the investor, on the contrary, everything is free. If you want, scroll through the catalog of startups; if you want, wait until they reach you. Additionally, Cherub also promises some kind of intelligent “tagging”, highlighting the most mutually interesting contacts, but I don’t think it works well. Now the project is at a very early stage, the founders talk about 100 startups on the platform and revenue of 50 thousand dollars (that is, apparently, half found some kind of free entry, the amount does not compare with the subscription price). Cherub attracted a little more than a million dollars in investments - naturally, not through its system. And, I rarely write like this, it seems to me that the startup does not have great prospects. At least until he radically changes the model. Taking money from early-stage projects is a dead end; a good project won’t want to pay, a bad one won’t be able to.
