#FDSW2024 'DAY 5' On the 5th and final day of Fire Door Safety Week, we're sharing valuable insight from the British Woodworking Federation, BWF Fire Door Alliance. 'A False Sense of Safety – Who would you trust to repair a fire door?' 'In a recent survey, most respondents agree that those responsible for installing and maintaining fire doors should have specialist qualifications or accreditations, but many still trust unqualified individuals like caretakers or handymen.' Take a look: https://lnkd.in/eFNQWdW9 By sharing this important message we're supporting the British Woodworking Federation mission. Highlighting how correct installation and maintenance are essential in ensuring fire doors perform as they should. 'Together we can raise awareness of the critical role of fire doors play in the devastating event of a fire.' This week marks the start of Fire Door Safety Week, brought to you by the British Woodworking Federation. The theme this year is A False Sense of Safety, which aims to encourage people to recognise and report any fire door issues regardless of the location or assumption that fire safety is someone else's responsibility. In support of this, we've created this Fire Door Safety Checklist - knowing what to look out for if you spot a problem could just save a life. #firedoorsafetyweek

One of the most essential and effective measures of controlling fire spread in any building! When you have seen the results of a properly fitted fire door from both sides of the door following a fire, you know first hand the level of protection and integrity from the products of combustion that a fire door provides. Fit them, audit them and maintain them!
Fire Door Safety Week – A False Sense of Safety Research by the British Woodworking Federation shows that people often have a greater sense of safety in buildings like schools and hospitals. Regardless of where you are, if you spot a problem with a fire door, report it. Find out more: https://ow.ly/TFfo50Tt0FL #FDSW24

🔥 Halfway through Fire Door Safety Week with British Woodworking Federation National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) BWF Fire Door Alliance Ever wondered why those doors with the blue signs 🔵 are so important? Fire doors are your building's unsung heroes, containing fires and buying precious time for escape and firefighting. 🚒 Key Points: 🚪 Identify Your Fire Doors: Look for blue signs, door closers, and special seals. 🏠 Know Your Locations: External doors in flats and some internal doors can be fire doors. ⏱️ Fire Door Ratings: Understand ratings like FD30 and FD60. 🛠️ Regular Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and replace damaged parts. Remember: Fire doors only work when closed and in good condition. When you see a fire door, think about this: Is it doing its job to keep us safe?🛡️ #FireSafety #FirePrevention #FireDoors #BuildingSafety #SafetyFirst
