We can't wait to see you there! 🤝
Access to hearing implants in emerging nations is crucial and has been extensively discussed here at the 8th World Congress of CI in Emerging Nations in Buenos Aires.
It can transform lives by enabling individuals with hearing loss to communicate effectively, participate fully in society, and improve their quality of life.
By addressing the barriers to access, such as cost, awareness, and availability of trained professionals, we can ensure that more people benefit from these life-changing technologies.
We at MED-EL do Brasil 🇧🇷 are comitted to reduce these barriers in Brazil.
New Policy on Innovative Hearing Technology
Chris Whitehouse, a political consultant and expert on medical technology policy and regulation at Whitehouse Communications, welcomes a new approach to promote access to innovative hearing technology.

All of us have one. We carry it all our lives. The most interesting part of the human mind is that until now, nobody has fully understood it. So, let’s not even try :)

What good do artists do? And what happens when they get together online?
Today's crop of projects:
-stop gun crime in Indianapolis: yes, using art
-help 'normal' people connect with neurodivergent people (and not get put off because they react to things differently): yes, doing art
-prevent relapse of prisoners (for instance teach them to beat the drums, not each other), yes, professional artists do that too
-finding jobs across the pond
-starting projects that create jobs for others, across the pond
-had a general chat on the uses and limitations of AI in various fields, from medicine through space technology, and sure, art, why not.
No hard sells, just connecting to see if we gel. Sometimes we don't, and that's ok! It means we have convictions, non-negotiables. We come up with projects and solutions we can only do together, in an otherwise solitary profession. Thank you Mark Walmsley for organising and hosting these events!

Let's talk about spectrum! It's the lifeblood of wireless networks, the invisible radio frequencies over which wireless signals travel to enable technologies and services like mobile device calls, satellite TV, social media check-ins, air traffic control, food deliveries, and more.
But the field of spectrum policy is lacking in diverse practitioners, and we need to expand diversity in the spectrum talent pipeline and support and elevate existing diverse voices working in spectrum policy.
Sound intriguing? Don't be afraid of the bands, the dots, the gigahertz, the cells ... learning about and working on spectrum policy is a great way to engage with the intersection of technology and law. You'll meet great people, too.
Follow the Diversity in Spectrum Council for updates on events and opportunities, and join DISC this Thursday, June 13 for a breakfast info and networking session!
(I'm posting this from the Apple store while waiting for a phone repair. Funny how important spectrum seems when you're without a mobile device and can't do something simple like map your way to an appointment or pay for Park Mobile.)
This is a reminder to join DISC this Thursday, 6/13 at 8:30AM for breakfast!
The Diversity in Spectrum Council will be hosting an informational session and networking hour focused on spectrum, open to all current DISC members and interested young professionals. Connect with the top professionals in the spectrum policy industry and learn from guest speaker Rikin Thakker, Ph.D. of NCTA - The Internet & Television Association and his presentation on everything you need to know about spectrum.
