The Applus+ IMA team is proud to be part of the exciting DigiZug3D project and to contribute our know-how in the field of strength tests for the reliability of components and structures. The project is funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as part of the "Digitization of vehicle manufacturers and the supplier industry" economic stimulus program, and we are working with wellknown partners such as Siemens Mobility, Formnext - Where ideas take shape, TÜV NORD GROUP, MGA Mobility | MGA Medical - Mobility goes Additive e.V., Universität Paderborn PIAF (Paderborn Institute for Additive Manufacturing), Deutsche Bahn, ÖBB, Photon Laser Manufacturing GmbH, Nikon SLM Solutions and Hamburger Hochbahn AG to visualize and digitalize the approval process in the rail sector. 🚆 💪🏼 DigiZug3D is developing a digital certification platform for 3D printed components in rail vehicles. The specifics of additive manufacturing are taken the entire process chain into account, particularly in the calculation-based verification process. This project should not be limited to the rail industry, it is planned to take place across all sectors. On the basis of specific components of different material classifications, a generic digital certification process will be outlined. 🚄💻 Our aim is to provide a digital platform that enables the secure production of all infrastructure elements and functions as a database, guide and communication tool along the process chain. The aim is to eliminate barriers such as high purchasing costs and unclear data availability.
