The supply chain company Blue Yonder disclosed a ransomware attack that has significantly impacted operations at grocery stores across the US in the lead-up to Thanksgiving. It’s the latest in a long line of malicious actors targeting organizations where the impact of an attack will be greater during the holiday season. In this article from Lynn Petrak at Progressive Grocer Semperis vice president Dan Lattimer says that the attack is most likely calculated, with hackers understanding that disruptions in the supply chain will leave many grocery stores in the U.S. with empty shelves at the worst possible time.
