🤔 Is Your Family Home Safe If You Need Nursing Home Care? Here’s What You Need to Know in Florida! Worried about losing your family home if you or a loved one needs nursing home care and Medicaid assistance? In Florida, the good news is that most homes are safe—even if they’re in a Trust! 🙌 💡 If your home has less than $700,000 in equity, Florida Medicaid typically won’t force you to sell it or use it for a spend down to qualify for benefits. This means you can still protect your assets and leave your home to your child or other loved ones through a properly structured Trust. Even if you have more equity or face a complex situation, there are strategies to help preserve your home and your family’s financial future. Florida’s Medicaid rules are much more favorable compared to other states, and that’s why we’re passionate about helping families secure what matters most! 👍 📞 Want to make sure your home is protected? Contact us at Mortellaro Law for personalized guidance on Trust planning and Medicaid protection. 📅 Visit our website to learn more and schedule a complimentary consultation today. --- ♻️ Share if you find this helpful. 📢 Tag someone who needs this. 🔔 Follow #MortellaroLaw for more. #EstatePlanning #MedicaidPlanning #ProtectYourHome #Trusts #FloridaEstatePlanningAttorney #FloridaAssetProtectionAttorney

💡 Did You Know? Medicaid provides a crucial safety net for many Texans, especially when it comes to covering long-term care costs. However, qualifying for Medicaid isn’t automatic—it requires careful planning to meet strict eligibility requirements without jeopardizing your family’s assets. 🏡💰 Medicaid in Texas has specific rules: to qualify for nursing home coverage, individuals must have less than $2,000 in countable assets (excluding a home, personal belongings, and one vehicle). For families who’ve worked hard to build wealth, this can be a daunting challenge. 💼 Planning ahead can make all the difference. Proper Medicaid planning can help protect your hard-earned assets while ensuring you or your loved ones get the care you deserve. 📞 Contact us today to learn how we can help you navigate Medicaid eligibility and protect your family's future. Estate planning ≠ Medicaid planning. Frankly, the two shouldn’t even be in the same discussion. Don’t let a “general practice” attorney lead your clients into making into decisions that will later regret and cannot undo.

‼️This. I hear it all the time. The LTC planning industry has to muster some innovative messaging strategies and possibly partner with state and federal agencies to spread the word that Medicare and health insurance do not cover long term care. I love that Joanne Giardini-Russell is on TikTok trying to do just that. Follow her. 🔥We also need more employers offering long term care plans. One solution to slow the spread of this five alarm fire to future generations has to involve employers in a one to many approach. One more time for those in the back: Medicare and health insurance do not cover long term care. It’s an out-of-pocket expense until you drain most of your assets. You will find that out when your parents or other family members need care.
In our TikTok work talking Medicare... 👉 THIS is such a frequent comment: "My Father in law receives $1700 in social security and we’re being told it’s too much to receive Medicaid!! He has Humana and bc/bs. He needs full time help but we’re told it’s all out of pocket!" People really, really do assume that Medicare will pay for everything. With massive aging still to come in our population - Not good. Todd Wolfe ChFC, CLTC Noel Evans Marc Glickman, FSA, CLTC
