SENse Learning is celebrating, ‘International Day of People with Disabilities’, by recognising the celebration of diversity and the role it plays in our global community. We continue to learn from the experiences of people with disabilities and the role of IDPWD is to encourage a world where a person is not characterised by their disabilities, but by their abilities, with human rights for all, at the centre of this. #internationaldayforpeoplewithdisability #internationaldayforpeoplewithdisabilities #internationaldayforpersonswithdisabilities #BespokeEducation #AlternativeEducation #CreativeLearning #educationjobs #SENEducation #seneducation

International Day of People with Disabilities(IDPWD): A Step Towards Inclusive Governance On this International Day of People with Disabilities 2024, we are proud to share a remarkable visit and learning experience undertaken by our MPhil Governance and Public Policy student's from the Department of Governance and Public Policy National University of Modern Languages Islamabad Pakistan. As part of their Democratic Governance course, mentored by Dr.Athar Rashid, the students visited the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) to gain valuable insights into policies fostering inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities. The students were warmly welcomed by Mr.SULAIMAN AHMAD, Director HEC, and his dedicated team. They were briefed on the HEC Policy for student's with Disabilities, which underscores the Commission's commitment to creating equitable opportunities in higher education. This policy not only addresses accessibility in infrastructure but also ensures the availability of resources to empower persons with disabilities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan's socio-economic fabric. Inclusion is not just a policy matter but a cornerstone of democratic governance. Persons with disabilities must be empowered to participate in decision-making processes and leadership roles, shaping a future that respects and values diversity. As educators and policymakers, we must continue to foster environments that prioritize their inclusion in education and governance systems. Let this day remind us of our collective responsibility to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities and to build a society where everyone, regardless of ability, has an equal chance to thrive. #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities #InclusionMatters #GovernanceAndPublicPolicy #HEC #NUML #EmpoweringThroughEducation https://lnkd.in/dFA663fV

Today on International Day of People with Disabilities, we honour and celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities worldwide. At TAC, we are committed to fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments for all. Standard 2.5 of the revised Standards for RTOs emphasises the importance of a diverse and inclusive learning environment. By fostering a safe and inclusive space for all VET students, including those with disabilities, we empower learners to reach their full potential. Now is the perfect time for RTOs to review Standard 2.5 and ensure their practices align with these important guidelines. By prioritising inclusion and accessibility, RTOs can create a more positive and effective learning experience for all students. More information on Standard 2.5 is available in the Online Guidance Hub https://lnkd.in/gesdHCAF. 🌍 Commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities 🌟 Today, Inclusive Education for Sustainable Development (IESD) joins the global community in observing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year's theme, “Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Inclusion and Equity,” reminds us of the urgent need to build a world where everyone, regardless of ability, has access to opportunities that foster dignity, independence, and fulfillment. At IESD, we are committed to promoting inclusive education and sustainable development by ensuring that persons with disabilities are at the heart of decision-making, climate action, and social transformation. Through our ongoing projects—such as supporting learners with disabilities, enhancing accessibility in schools, and advocating for inclusive policies—we aim to break barriers and create a more equitable society. Let us all take a step forward by advocating, acting, and building alliances that empower persons with disabilities to thrive in all aspects of life. Together, we can turn aspirations into action! #DisabilityInclusion #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities #IESD #SustainableDevelopment #EquityForAll
