"VisioNing - Valorization of agro-industrial wastewater - Every day huge amounts of agro-industrial wastewater are produced, in most cases never treated before disposal, and practically never reused. This causes an enormous environmental impact. In addition to water waste and pollution problems, it should be noted that agro-industrial related activities are also responsible for the leakage of valuable nutrients, in which farms invest in annually. In recent years, the cost of soil nutrients has risen exponentially, and for some of them, such as phosphorus, we are experiencing a dramatic period of crisis that put the global food production chain at risk. VisioNing aims to face these challenges by providing innovative solutions for agro-industrial wastewater treatment. Our main product is a dedicated treatment plant, based on a combination of bio-electrochemical and photocatalytic technologies that purifies wastewater derived from this type of waste and valorizes every drop of water by harnessing solar energy. VisioNing purifies water for virtuous reuse while recovering its nutrients by immobilizing them on appropriate materials to be used for soil fertilization. The whole process is spontaneous and energetically self-sustaining."
