It’s one thing to be grateful. It’s another thing to give thanks. Gratitude is what you feel. Thanksgiving is what you do. - Tim Keller This highlights a powerful distinction between internal emotions and external actions. Gratitude is an internal state of recognition a feeling of thankfulness for the good in our lives. It’s reflective and personal. Thanksgiving is the outward expression of that gratitude. It’s what we do to demonstrate our appreciation, whether through words, actions, or gestures. Gratitude is important but it is incomplete without action. To truly honor the blessings we receive, we must not only feel thankful but also express it in tangible ways. Thanksgiving serves as an annual reminder to live out our gratitude, reinforcing that true thankfulness is demonstrated through meaningful action whether by strengthening relationships or serving others. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 everyone.

Gratitude and Reflection This Thanksgiving 🍁🦃✨ As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, it’s a time to express gratitude for the blessings in our lives. However, it’s also a time to reflect on the history behind this holiday—a history that is complex and, for many, painful. Thanksgiving is often associated with ideals of unity and shared prosperity, but its origins are deeply tied to the history of Indigenous peoples in the United States. The arrival of European settlers brought immense suffering to Native communities, including displacement, loss of culture, and violence. This Thanksgiving let’s take a moment to honor and recognize the resilience and contributions of Indigenous peoples, whose histories and cultures are foundational to this land. 🌎🌿 Here are a few meaningful ways to engage in this reflection: ✨ Educate ourselves about the history of the Native peoples whose land we inhabit. 🛍️ Support Indigenous-owned businesses, artists, and organizations. 📣 Amplify Indigenous voices and advocate for policies that protect their rights and sovereignty. Thanksgiving is an opportunity not just to celebrate but to learn, acknowledge, and act. By doing so, we create a more inclusive and thoughtful tradition—one that embraces truth and respect. Wishing everyone a Thanksgiving filled with gratitude, growth, and meaningful connection. 🍂💛

Thanksgiving is a time when we pause and reflect on the many blessings in our lives, and for many, family is at the heart of that gratitude. It's a day filled with traditions—whether it’s the familiar aromas of a home-cooked meal, laughter shared around the table, or the comfort of old stories being retold. For me, Thanksgiving is more than just a holiday; it's a reminder of the importance of connection. The act of gathering together, often across distances and busy schedules, is a tangible expression of love, care, and the value we place on our relationships. Family, in its many forms, is the foundation of this celebration. The people who have shaped us, who know our histories, our quirks, our strengths, and our vulnerabilities, are those we turn to for both joy and support. It’s easy to get caught up in the demands of daily life, but moments like these—shared meals, shared memories—serve as a grounding force. They remind us that, no matter what’s happening in the world around us, we have each other. Of course, Thanksgiving also invites us to reflect on those we’ve lost or who may not be able to join the table. The absence of loved ones can bring a sense of longing, but it also allows us to honor their place in our lives. In those moments, family isn’t just the people who are present; it’s the legacy and love that continues to live on in our hearts. Ultimately, Thanksgiving, at its core, is about appreciating the simple yet profound act of being together. It’s about recognizing the strength of our family bonds and understanding that, despite all our differences and challenges, there’s a deep, unspoken connection that unites us. In the busyness of life, these moments of reflection remind us to cherish the ones we hold dear and to be grateful for the time we get to share.

From our team to your home, we hope you have a great day filled with spending time with your loved ones. (And eating that extra piece of pie!) We are thankful for each one of the people we work with to make our communities even better! As we pause to celebrate Thanksgiving, I'm struck by a profound truth that many Indigenous peoples have long embraced – gratitude isn't meant to be confined to a single day, but rather woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Their wisdom teaches us that true appreciation is a practice, a way of moving through the world that transforms how we see everything around us. Many Indigenous communities start each day with expressions of thanksgiving – for the sun that rises, for the water that sustains us, for the earth that supports us, and for the connections that bind us together. This daily practice of gratitude isn't just a ritual – it's a powerful lens through which to view life, one that can profoundly impact our well-being and our relationships with others. Let's draw inspiration from these timeless teachings and carry the spirit of thanksgiving with us beyond this holiday. Whether it's starting our meetings with a moment of appreciation, acknowledging our daily wins, or simply taking time to recognize each other's contributions, we can make gratitude a cornerstone of our culture. #Thanksgiving #GiveThanks #ThankfulforYou #TurkeyDinner #Pie #bkonnected #indigenous #communities #team #teachings
