Highlight the power of gratitude! In tough times, help children pause, notice, and savor the feelings that the good things in our lives bring. 🧡 After watching this video, invite children to make their own gratitude jar! From time to time, encourage them to draw a picture of something or someone they appreciate, and put the slip of paper in the jar. When it’s full, take your time going through the slips one by one and absorb the good feelings they bring up. Developing a sense of thankfulness places us in a better position to face challenges with inner strength and resilience! https://lnkd.in/eWehJ_Ep #Resources

Here are three ways parents can teach their children to practice gratitude: 1. *Lead by example*: Express your own gratitude regularly, sharing three things you're thankful for each day. This shows children that gratitude is a valuable habit. 2. *Create a gratitude ritual*: Establish a daily or weekly routine, like sharing gratitude during dinner or before bed. Encourage children to share three things they're thankful for. 3. *Make it tangible*: Create a "Gratitude Jar" where family members write down things they're thankful for on slips of paper and put them in the jar. Read them aloud regularly to reflect on the good things in life. Remember, consistency and positivity are key!

November is National Gratitude Month. As adults we help children learn by beginning to model gratitude. Children are always watching and, more importantly, looking up to adults in their lives. The things you do and say will impact them and influence how they behave. An easy way to model gratitude in your daily routine is to tell children “Thank you” any time they cooperate or do something you ask them to. Really reinforce this by thanking them if they do something without being told. Next, notice any time a child expresses gratitude. When a child says “thank you,” they are expressing their gratitude. Whether they are saying it in response to a gift, a hug, or picking them up from basketball practice-make note of this. Try saying, “I love what a grateful spirit you have,” or, “thanks so much for always remembering to say thank you.” It will make a difference. You may even hear them say thank you more often! #NationalGratitudeMonth #OHSAI

Looking for a meaningful way to focus on gratitude this season? Try a 31-Day Year-End Gratitude Tradition! 🌟 Starting the Friday after Thanksgiving, choose one person each day to send a heartfelt message of appreciation. 💌 Here’s how it works: each day, pick someone who has blessed your year and write them a text or email. Let them know why you chose them, how much you value them, and the positive impact they’ve made on your life. Share why they’re special to you and express your gratitude in a personal way. For example: “Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I take time each day to express my gratitude to those who have made a difference in my life. Today, I choose you, and here’s why… [add your heartfelt message here]. I say a prayer of gratitude for you and am blessed by the impact you’ve had on my journey.” This simple tradition deepens connections, fills hearts with appreciation, and reminds us all of the power of a kind word during a busy season. 💛 #SeasonOfGratitude #GratitudePractice #SpreadKindness #HeartfeltConnections #31DaysOfGratitude
