“Landfill Gas-To-Energy (LGFE)”!!! Landfill Gas-to-Energy (LGFE) is a process that captures methane-rich gas emitted from decomposing organic waste in landfills and converts it into renewable energy. As waste decomposes, it produces landfill gas (LFG), primarily composed of methane and carbon dioxide. LGFE systems collect, purify, and use this gas to generate electricity or produce heat, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing a sustainable energy source. By burning the methane, LGFE mitigates its impact on climate change, as methane is a potent greenhouse gas.
