A few weeks ago, we introduced you to Martin Keay, one of our long-serving employees.
Today, we're excited to put the spotlight on Jamie Seymour. From joining as a Supply and Distribution Apprentice to becoming an Operational Delivery Engineer and even taking part in the Severn Trent 6-aside football tournament. Jamie's journey with us has been far from boring, and his commitment and exceptional contributions haven't gone unnoticed.

Happy 1st MBO anniversary to River Capital equity portfolio business Barons Contract Furniture - can’t believe it’s been a year already!!
It's been great to work with all the team at Baron's, including Managing Director Garry Smith and Chair Gary Lasham. As outlined in the post below, there’s been a massive amount achieved in what is a relatively short period, and the future looks equally exciting as the business continues to deliver on its growth opportunities.
And you? Are you like Garry, an MD in a North West based SME business you wish to acquire? Or do you own an SME and are considering your exit plans which may potentially include passing the business on to your management team? Always happy to talk and see if we can help ....

Thank you Brandy Clemmer for the opportunity to volunteer at Victory Junction this weekend. It was such an impactful experience to support kids learning new skills and facing new challenges. I had a great time putting smiles on other people's faces and being a family pal!
The LinkedIn video tab has arrived on my app.
Wow, game changer.
I did find myself scrolling down unimpressed by the content. Abit samey and nothing really stood out. Was I bit more critical as I was in scroll mode? Did I feel I was on Instagram or Facebook. Remember you have barely 3 seconds to engage someone on video scroll.
Which made me think! BIG opportunity for companies and candidates to stand out and shine. SME’s, startup and scale up’s this is your chance to get your brand and culture out there to attract the best talent and business! Get known.
CEO & Founders start using this as go to platform to share your passsion and values on what inspired you to create this business.
Candidates this is your time. Give potential employers a glimpse of who you are behind that profile and what sets you apart.
I definitely think as an SME, startup or scaleup if you have not, it’s time to really think what your employer brand strategy is, engage employee advocacy and get that culture out there. Build your followers, be more human and make it fun and engaging.
I do love what Ryan Reynolds has done so seamlessly so added for a little inspiration on how to be different and more engaging! No pressure!
Speak to us if you need any direction on your Employer brand, LinkedIn strategy & any recruitment needs you may have!

Let's not underplay the role of Artificial Intelligence enabling humans a method for denying coverage without having to deal with the reality of despair their A.I. based decisions create. Let's also not underplay that actuarial based decisions, if just slightly readjusted, can turn large profit ratios into unacceptably and unsafe small profit ratios. Let's also not underplay that anyone wanting to replace Mr. Thompson, would lobby the board on the premise of creating higher profit margins and better investor returns if Mr. Thompson had attempted to make United Healthcare a kinder / fairer company. Finally, let's not underplay how the mainstream media has focused so much attention on Donald Trump, the deeply impactful practices of Healthcare United probably did not receive the necessary media scrutiny that might have led to a fairer balance between accepted and denied medical care requests.
M&A and Strategy Advisor | Investor | CFO | Executive Coach | Former Koch and Cargill Corpdev
Brian Thompson went from Jewell, Iowa (population 1,200) to leading 140,000 employees and overseeing $280B of revenue at one of the world’s most important companies. His mom worked as a beautician, his dad at a grain elevator—they were probably really proud when he graduated valedictorian of his 50-person high school class. He played basketball and the trombone, got elected homecoming king, and worked in soybean fields and meat processing plants during summers. While studying at the University of Iowa, he met the woman who would become his wife, with whom he would have two kids. By all accounts, he was smart, hard-working, funny, and a thoroughly decent man.
This guy—not the person who murdered him in cold blood—was everything that’s right and good about America, and the American Dream. May his memory be a blessing, and may his example inspire all of us to do better.
This stirs up a lot of anger in people.
Ironically, it seems like the people most justifying murder and angry at health insurers will also look at the price of insulin and say, "shame on health insurance", not realizing it is government regulation that keeps the prices high, that same government regulation that y'all keep voting for...
UHC is BARELY profitable. If they covered all the things people wish they covered, they would be bankrupt, gone, and cover nothing.
I am guilty of thinking government controls were necessary for improvement. I repent as I now have learned how economics works.
Get gov out of healthcare, and prices will DROP overnight.
Healthcare is one of those industries where the prices keep going up, while tech keeps going down.
Why? Gov protections and price controls.
So, if you're going to be angry at "our healthcare system", start by being angry at your own economic illiteracy. YOUR VOTING is screwing us all. YOU are responsible.
You, yes you, are responsible for the original problems AND the justification of murder, the scapegoating of YOUR sins upon a successful father, husband, and citizen.
This death and the deaths of all those from the unforced errors of healthcare are on the heads of our own economic illiteracy, an economic illiteracy that is no longer forgivable in the age of the Internet.
I recommend picking up one of the following authors to educate yourself and begin your path of redemption:
