Yesterday, Daniela Gerber Wong and I did a cold call training session Below you can listen to my call And here the basic structure for you to read: Daniela: "Hello" Patrick: "Hi Daniela, it's Patrick Trümpi from Taskbase, hi" Daniela: "Hi Patrick" Patrick: "Daniela, we do not know each other. This is actually a cold call. Do you mind giving me 30s of your time so that I can explain why exactly I call you right now?" Daniela: "Sure, go ahead" Patrick: "Great, thanks. Daniela, we work with a lot of eLearning providers that would like to offer open question and answer formats in their tools. Most of the providers actually do but very reluctantly because they cannot provide feedback to answer to these open questions. So they cannot tell the students whether they have done the exercise wrong or have done it right but consider this feature to be necessary for the students to interact with these open questions. Is that something that sounds familiar for you as well?" Daniela: "Yes well at the moment we use open exercises in our tool and have teachers who evaluate this. So we are not interested to change that at the moment" Patrick: (Listen below to see my answers to all objections) -- Most important tip for you: Your initial problem-focused pitch should be crystal clear Anybody should understand No marketing bla-bla What do you think of mine?

The secret weapon for a Blockbuster Launch is a sales funnel. Think of it like a friendly guide for potential students, showing them exactly how your course can transform their lives. Here's how this "guide" works: ✅ Find the Right People: It helps you connect with people who are genuinely interested in what you're teaching. ✅ Build Buzz and Excitement: It helps you Share free goodies like sneak peeks, mini-lessons, or cheat sheets. One of the most common questions we tackle in HeyCreator is how to design your first course. To do this, we use a simple 1-3-3-1 framework to outline V1 of the course 👇 1 Clear outcome for customers 3 Steps to success 3 Lessons for each step 1 Q&A to assist/teach This works for course lessons or workshop outline. Personally, I like to outline then sell the process as a workshop to validate the idea. The goal is 20 people to pay $50 each, i.e. $1000 for a few hours of work. Here's an example from a workshop I taught about shipping your first 10 videos on YouTube. I had 52 people sign up for a $67 training = $3,484. The clear outcome? Well, shooting and shipping your first 10 YouTube videos 😉 It went well, so I edited the webinar into course-sized sections, added a couple more short videos and tutorials, then released it as a course and sold 55 for $98 = $5,390. In total, I worked on this for about a month and made $8,874. Ultimately I decided not to go any further down the YouTube training path, but this is a ready-to-sell (or share) asset that was well worth the time I put into it. And it all started with a simple 1-3-3-1 framework. What product could you outline this week?

This stupid simple method can be the difference between endless pitching and selling your e-learning products or services like crazy! There are many busy coaches & course creators out there. And if you're one of them, let me break down the difference between those I buy from and those stuck in my inbox pitching to my spam folder. But first, a reality check. Without authority and visibility, gaining trust and making sales becomes an uphill battle. But how can you build authority, and how can you get people to trust you? Video. I think I heard this from Kevin Dowling, and here it goes: "When people see you speaking on video, they start to associate a voice with your writing." And I was like: daaaamn, I never thought of it this way. Reflecting on this, I realized its validity. I've encountered countless pitches for events, programs, and free offerings, many of which left me indifferent. Why? Because I had no connection with the person behind the message. But I can also recall people from whom I bought courses. And I do open every email from them, no matter the subject line. What set them apart? Their presence on video, delivering valuable content. And when is the best time to introduce video to your prospects? I'd say the first email you send them, where the open rate is the closest to 100%. This is how me and my clients are approaching selling e-learning products online. Let me know if you had at least an AH-HA moment while reading this. And check out Kevin for more tips on Video. --- If you're in the business of selling e-learning products or services and found value in my post, feel free to reach out. While I can't take any new clients at this time, I do have a few openings for complimentary consulting calls. Let's connect and explore how I can support your journey.
