As a consultant and experienced professional, I have worked in various organizations and industries. Through these experiences, I have realized the critical importance of male allyship in empowering women and fostering inclusive workplaces. This understanding was shaped by numerous stories and experiences. I recall a talented colleague announcing her pregnancy. Instead of celebrating, whispers filled the office: “She got pregnant just to avoid work.” This reflected a systemic issue questioning women’s contributions. In meetings, I’ve seen women subjected to intense scrutiny and criticism due to their gender. Their ideas were often dismissed, with male colleagues dominating the conversation. Neurodivergent employees, both men and women, were mocked by their peers. A bright, innovative woman was belittled for her differences, her unique perspective disregarded. Men, too, faced this harsh reality, but the silence of witnesses was deafening. Some senior leaders, often took a hard-line stance, saying, “Life is tough for all of us. I made it through, so they should too.” This attitude perpetuated the cycle of difficulty and isolation for others. These experiences underscored the dire need for male allyship. Men must actively advocate for gender equality, support female colleagues, and challenge biases. By doing so, they help dismantle barriers and create a thriving culture. Empowering women and fostering male allyship harness the full potential of every individual. When women are given equal opportunities and men stand as allies, companies can cultivate an environment of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. As compassionate individuals, powerful men and women must protect and empower vulnerable groups. We integrated 11 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into the group's strategy and three of them are in a good governance area. One of the good governance area goals is Gender Equality, aimed at achieving gender equality and empowering both women and girls. To achieve this goal, Zana Kel endorsed and signed the European Council's declaration in Paris 📃, advocating for stronger gender equality in the business sector. The commitment includes having women constitute at least 40% of administrative and leadership positions. In 2023, we not only successfully maintained this benchmark but also witnessed a commendable increase. Our 2023 results showcase the dedication and progress we've made: women in administrative positions reached an impressive 47.16%, while women in leadership positions achieved a significant milestone of 40% (2021 – 29%; 2022 – 29,79%). 💹 As we step into 2024, we remain resolute in our commitment to advancing gender equality.
