Well that will be us up there on the short list for best integrated campaign 👊 from the world renowned and prestigious The Drum Awards As part of our marketing transformation, 12 months ago we set ourselves an ambition to get some marketing swagger (aka a hefty gold embellishment for our newly installed and ambitiously big trophy cabinet). More doors closing in retail and the people affected are staying positive and making the most of their time with each other 💖 That's what a retail family is all about. Please support the store managers, district managers, supervisors and the staff looking for work across the country. Your retail skills are valuable and absolutely transferable into almost any field. For anyone hiring here is a day in the life....You talk to anyone who comes in. You watch the KPIs and coach the staff to drive performance. You teach life skills to entry level employees and hold accountable grown adults. You multi-task like you have a legion of people in the building while really managing payroll to the quarter hour. You have difficult conversations and console your people with every day struggles in and out of work. You havetalk professionally and without judgment to individuals who lost their mind over a policy you can't change. You keep the place clean and visually gorgeous every day. And you do it all with a smile and an earpiece on. I see you. I support you. I am here if you want to comment, complain, or cry. That's what family is for. We got the news on Wednesday that our location is closing. I have to be honest I’m still in that denial stage… but the first thing that came to my mind was “ omg my people ! “ and how I was going to break down this news to them. It hasn’t been easy but my team and I came together and we decided we are going to make the best of it. We are going to celebrate all the small wins from now til our doors close and cherish all our moments together💫

Today, I had the privilege of attending KML's Top 30 Under 30 Summit. Thank you The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto and Sam for giving me and my colleagues this opportunity. And congratulations to Aaron for the well-deserved award! We're so proud of you! 🎉 I arrived already expecting to learn, but the panel sessions far exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to share my key takeaways: 📝"Diversity" extends beyond race, age, and gender orientation to include learning abilities. Most people who work in FOH are experiential learners, retaining information better through hands-on experience. Training should be tailored accordingly, rather than relying solely on PowerPoint slides or written materials. 📝Encourage every associate to collaborate and contribute to changes; give them a sense of purpose. 📝When hiring, shift the focus from "Will they stay?" to "How do we retain them?"; what we should be looking for, especially in the service industry, is Authenticity. 📝Going Green— This shouldn't mean taking away amenities or putting the burden on the guests in any way, it means offering an alternative. 📝Pre-Shifts— the hallmark of service excellence; setting the mood for associates and keeping them informed impacts guest's experiences more than you think.
