We thank our partners for their continued support too! #InclusiveSociety #EnabledLives

Last week, for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, #bpAzerbaijan invited us to conduct an awareness session recognizing the contributions of persons with disabilities. As the founder of DanceAbility Azerbaijan Social Enterprise, I showcased our journey since 2017, promoting #inclusion and #accessibility. We reflected on our achievements, shared our vision for a more accessible world, and discussed the steps ahead. bp’s leadership in fostering an accessible workplace was evident through Gunay Hajiyeva’s presentation, highlighting their efforts and reaffirming their role as a pioneer in #inclusivity. We presented our new production, #HowMuchIsEnough, addressing fast fashion's impact on global warming and emphasizing inclusive action and shared responsibility. A panel discussion followed, where we stressed the link between #inclusion and the #environment and shared our belief that #diversity strengthens society when #accessibility allows every individual’s potential to flourish. I also shared my first introduction to #neurodiversity, which I learned about five years ago from #bp employee Elnara Sadikhova (Assoc. CIPD). This sparked my passion for inclusivity and deepened my admiration for bp’s #values. Since 2022, bp’s support has enabled us to train 50 rehabilitation workers and over 170 ASPU students, empowering them to foster inclusion and create equitable environments. It was great to have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with Gary Jones, bp's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, and Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp’s Vice President for the Caspian region, Communication & External Affairs. We shared stories about the local and global #impact of our work and its role in driving #sustainable change. We are excited to continue collaborating with #bp to amplify the impact of inclusion and accessibility in our country, creating a more equitable and inclusive society. Special thanks to the #bpWIN team and Jamila Islamova for organizing this memorable event. 🌟 Championing Inclusiveness for People with Disabilities in Singapore 🌟 Inclusiveness is more than a buzzword—it's a commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to thrive. In Singapore, we are making strides towards a more inclusive society, but there is always more we can do. Here are some key areas where we can make a difference: 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Ensuring that public spaces, transportation, and buildings are accessible to all. This includes ramps, tactile indicators, and accessible restrooms. 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬: Creating job opportunities and supportive environments for people with disabilities. This means not just hiring but also providing the necessary accommodations and support. 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: Promoting understanding and acceptance through education. Schools, workplaces, and communities should be equipped with the knowledge to support inclusiveness. 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: Leveraging technology to empower individuals with disabilities. From screen readers to mobility aids, technology can bridge gaps and open new possibilities. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Building strong support networks through community programs and initiatives. Organizations like SG Enable and SPD are doing incredible work in this area. Inclusiveness is a collective effort. Let's work together to break down barriers and create a society where everyone feels valued and empowered. #Inclusiveness #DisabilityAwareness #Accessibility #Singapore #Empowerment #CommunitySupport

🌱 Small organizations as inclusion champions These Zero Project Awardees show how small organizations can catalyse change around the world as inclusion champions, be it in Lithuania, New Zealand, or elsewhere. The innovative solutions presented here illustrate how the serving or distribution of everyday popular items such as coffee or pancakes can continue to be more equitable and inclusive across the entire supply chain: 📌Diakonie de La Tour in Austria created 20 jobs for persons with disabilities via small enterprises. By 2024, businesses in catering and education fostered inclusivity. 📌Give & Take Coffee in China employs 93 workers with disabilities in accessible cafes. By 2024, it operated 14 stores, including a Singapore branch, using assistive AR technology. 📌Pirmas blynas, a Vilnius social enterprise, employs persons with disabilities in its restaurant. Seven of 11 staff have disabilities, while 15 interns are trained yearly. It advocates inclusive career paths. 📌The Lucy Foundation in New Zealand runs an inclusive coffee supply chain with persons with disabilities in Mexico and New Zealand. It employs, trains, and empowers individuals with disabilities. 📌Donald Beasley Institute in New Zealand advances disability rights via inclusive research. A 13-member team, including researchers with disabilities and indigenous researchers, promotes accessibility. The Zero Project Awardees 2025 from 45 countries will be front and center at the Zero Project Conference 2025. Behind every struggle for equality lies a deeper story. From facing educational barriers to challenging workplace exclusion, the journey for persons with disabilities in Indonesia is far from over. In Indonesia, the path from education to employment for persons with disabilities is filled with challenges that start early and run deep. Limited access to quality education forces many to forge their own way, often turning to entrepreneurship out of necessity. Yes, the existing laws are a step forward, but real change requires more than policy—it demands action. Some organizations have been pushing for change and taking a stand for a more inclusive Indonesia, but they need more support. If you care about inclusivity in our country, what solution will you offer? It’s great to see Empathy being taught to the next generation—a trait that is often underrated in today's fast-paced world. Empathy is not just about understanding others; it’s about feeling their experiences, stepping into their shoes, and making meaningful connections. Happy to see initiatives from the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) bringing down ex-national players to share their experiences and teach empathy through sports. What a fantastic way to educate the next generation, not only about competition and teamwork, but also about understanding the diverse challenges others face. Sports can be a powerful tool to foster compassion and inclusivity. Let's continue to build a world where empathy is as valued as any other skill. 👏 #Empathy #Education #SportsForGood #Inclusion #NextGeneration #Lifeskills #DisabilityInclusion
