Unless the employer can give you the exact career path from CSA to Advisor - don't take the job. Different skill sets and career arcs (note both are important to the sucess of a firm). No one becomes an Associate Advisor to be a Director of Operations, why would you take a client service associate job to be a Lead Advisor?

I'm facing a common career dilemma - the classic catch-22 of needing experience to get a job but not being able to gain experience without the job. Specifically, I aim to transition into an Account Manager role but find myself in need of prior experience in that exact position. It's a challenging loop that I'm determined to break out of. #CareerDilemma #AccountManager #CareerDevelopment

💥💥💥 New on a Job Role? Showing up as a high value employee and gaining mastery of that new role, lies in the optimization of your capacity 💥💥💥 During my work in the financial services industry, I once worked in the legal department of this particular organization. Now we had this secretary who had worked with the MD of the organization, but was transferred to our team. This colleague of mine started a new role and thought she was still working for the MD not taking into consideration the fact that she now worked with the Legal team… Dey play o 😂😂 Guess what, my boss at the time had different standards from the MD and in this team it was excellence or nothingggggg 🫡🫡 Like was to be expected, she had a lot of issues with my boss, all her tasks always ended in premium tears!!!! She always felt like she could never measure up!!!! 😢😢 This is what a lot of talents in NEW ROLES face, consistently feeling over and under whelmed on that new role! Just like each new phase of life REQUIRES A HIGHER CAPACITY to deliver exceptional results, so do you as one newly employed on a new role!!!! The capacity required will be on your mindset, your growth in soft skills such as leadership, adaptability, etc What was required on the previous job cannot be the same on the new role!!!! This will really go a long way in resolving your frustrations on the job!!! #newrolemastery #workplacemastery #employeedevelopment #talentdevelopment #employeegrowthanddevelopment #freshgraduatementorship

🔓 CAREER TIP OF THE WEEK! 🔓 Unlock valuable insights from industry experts with our weekly Career Tips! This week, Brian Sinclair, Early Careers Talent Acquisition Manager, EMEA at Aon, shares expert advice for recent graduates entering the insurance industry. 🗣 Brian offers practical tips: 👉 Confidence is key Believe in yourself! You’ve already impressed enough to land the job. Stay confident but balanced – ask questions when needed, take on challenges, and never hesitate to seek help. 👉 Avoid the ‘apply everywhere’ trap Instead of applying to every opportunity, research companies and focus on the ones that truly align with your values and interests. Quality over quantity is key. 👉 Be kind to yourself The job application process can be tough. Receiving rejections is hard, so minimise unnecessary stress by applying only to companies you’re genuinely excited about. This clarity will shine through during interviews. #JobSearchWoes #Rejection #JobMarketInsights Hey everyone! 😊 I just thought I’d share a little frustration I had recently with my job application experience. I applied for an Audit Manager position at Dentsply Sirona in Slovakia, and after patiently waiting for almost a month, I got a rejection email. They mentioned they were “impressed” by my skills but decided to “move forward with other candidates.” 🤔 Here’s the kicker – they never even screened me or reached out during the whole process! Then, just two hours after I received that rejection, I spotted the same job reposted on their job board with the exact same description and job ID. Talk about mixed signals! 🚩 I tried to reach out to their “no-reply” email, but surprise, surprise, my email bounced back! 😩 These types of experiences can be frustrating for job seekers, and here are a few reasons why: Lack of Communication: Not hearing anything besides a form rejection can feel disheartening, especially after waiting so long. This is the season when professionals approach my Executive Search firm www.novaedge.in( we specialise in hiring for General insurance, Healthcare, FMCG and in Automotive) and tell us they are looking out. That's when we tell them to discuss with their boss and with HR their long term aspiration. We urge them to get their Company to create Roles where the employee gets critical experiences that help sharpen the saw on competencies that enable future aspirations. The sad truth is that very few Companies experiment outside a regular templated role. For eg a Regional mgr may be eager to participate in a national cross functional teams project apart from operationally managing a Region but his boss may want his undivided attention. I would urge employees to have these conversations internally while setting objectives for the year - and if the company does not reciprocate and only wants to squeeze the lemon out of the person, that then is the time to look out for a new employer who is willing to have such a conversation.
