Honored to present at the excellent annual #IEPS meeting yesterday. Reflecting on 199 years since the first documented description of human "Foie Gras" in a French anatomy book (1825) - interestingly, associated with tuberculosis - the pandemic du jour of early 19th century - to today's #MASLD, and what a remarkable year it's been in this field. Even when limiting our scope to hormone-receptor based interventions, we face fascinating questions: the overwhelming metabolic impact of gut peptides, intrahepatic pathways despite absent parenchymal receptors, the degree of synergism in multiple receptor coagonists, and whether remarkable weight effects translate to tangible liver health endpoints. It's truly an exciting time as we approach meaningful clinical impact. And yes - couldn't resist using my final slide to share that we're recruiting! My lab is seeking a researcher and technician for innovative projects in mouse-derived liver organoids. #LiverResearch #MASLD #Organoids
