🚀 Job Seekers! A Friendly Reminder to Help Each Other 🚀 Today, I received an InMail from a recruiter about an exciting opportunity, but it wasn’t the right fit for me at this time. Instead of ignoring the message, I made sure to reply with a polite “Thank you, but I’m not interested.” Why? Because LinkedIn recruiters get their credit back when we respond, allowing them to reach out to someone else who might be looking for exactly that role! 🌍💼 If you’re not interested in a job, consider sending a quick reply so recruiters can focus on finding the right candidate. 🙏 💡 Let’s keep LinkedIn a helpful, resourceful place for everyone! Every little action helps, and your reply could make all the difference for someone else. 🌟 #JobSearch #Hiring #LinkedInTips #Networking #Recruitment #JobOpening #CareerGrowth #OpportunityAwaits #LinkedInCommunity #JobHunt #CareerDevelopment #PayItForward #NetworkingTips #ThankYou

You don't have to be a recruiter or hiring manager to help a #jobseeker. Here are five easy things you can do to help someone elevate their job search. 💡 Share job posts: There are lots of folks across LinkedIn, including Ene Onazi, Josh Bob, Sean S., Evan Pressman, Chelsea Maude Avirett, Ph.D., and a host of others who share posts full of open roles every week. 💡 React and comment on #opentowork posts: Engagement boosts job seekers' signal and may help them connect with a company, recruiter, or hiring manager. 💡 Facilitate connections: This only works if you can vouch for someone and their work, but facilitating introductions is one of the most helpful things you can do for someone looking for a new job. 💡 Tag someone in a job post: If you see someone posting an open role and a connection in your network is a great fit, make sure to tag them. Helping folks see ideal roles helps cut through the massive noise we often see across this platform. 💡 Connect with folks who have smaller networks than yours: Remember that bringing someone into your network opens a host of second-degree connections; this can be invaluable for anyone looking to network and grow their connections. 💡 Recommend a coach or resume specialist. If you have direct experience with an expert coach or resume writer and can personally vouch for their work, make sure to recommend them to others. Is there anything I missed? What else can you do to help a job seeker this week?

🔍 Job Seekers: Should You Connect and Reach Out to Recruiters? 🔍 Hey LinkedIn community! 👋 As a job seeker, I've often wondered about the best way to connect with recruiters. Do they actually appreciate when applicants reach out directly? Or is it considered too forward? 🤔 To all the recruiters and hiring managers out there: Do you prefer candidates to connect with you on LinkedIn before applying? Is it beneficial for applicants to send a message introducing themselves and expressing interest in a specific role? What are some best practices for making these connections meaningful and professional? Your insights would be invaluable, not just for me, but for many others navigating the job market. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences! 🙏 #JobSearch #Recruitment #Networking #CareerAdvice #LinkedInTips

Did you know 30-60% of job postings don’t actually exist. Let that sink in. The job market is already competitive, but now imagine that half of the roles you’re applying to don't even exist. This practice isn’t just frustrating—it’s misleading and unfair to job seekers. Why Do “Ghost Jobs” Exist? Here’s why recruiters and hiring managers post jobs that aren’t real: 1️⃣ They’re “shopping” for the perfect candidate to replace current employees. 2️⃣ To create the illusion that the company is growing. 3️⃣ To generate interest in the company or build a pipeline of candidates. 4️⃣ To give the impression they’re improving workloads for existing staff. 5️⃣ To keep busy when there’s no actual hiring going on. It’s a harsh reality, but knowing it exists is the first step. What Can You Do About It? 💡 1. Adjust Your Expectations When applying online, understand there’s a high chance the posting doesn’t lead anywhere. This impacts your low conversion rate from number of applications to number of interviews 💡 2. Don't Apply Online The best way to avoid ghost jobs? Networking and referrals. Spend less time tweaking your resume and more time connecting with people from those companies you’re interested in to learn about real openings. Pro Tip: Networking is your best weapon against ghost jobs. By connecting with people inside companies, you’ll find out about real opportunities that aren’t on job boards, bypass the noise of fake listings, and skip the line to get to the recruiter. #GhostJobs #JobSearch #Networking #CareerGrowth #Referrals #HiringTips #TechJobs #JobHunting #2024Careers #OpenToWork

Attention Recruiters Please refrain from posting job openings without providing proper details about the role and hiring process. Many job seekers are misled by vague or fake job posts, leading to hundreds of comments like "I'm interested," which only adds to the confusion. This practice makes it difficult for genuine job seekers to find real opportunities. If you are genuinely hiring, kindly include the following in your job posts: - Job title and description - Required qualifications and skills - Location (remote or on-site) - Salary range or benefits (if possible) - Application process and contact details This small effort can help build trust and create a better experience for everyone in the job market. Let's make LinkedIn a platform for real opportunities and not a source of frustration. Thank you! #Recruitment #JobSearch #FakeJobs #Hiring #LinkedInTips #JobSeeker #CareerTips #Transparency #Networking

Did you know your LinkedIn profile can silently shout "I'm interested!" to recruiters? Here’s how! 1. Turn on Job Alerts Enable the "Signal Interest" feature under Settings & Privacy > Data Privacy > Job Seeking Preferences. Turn it on/off every few weeks to keep your interest fresh. 2. Use the "I’m Interested" Button Visit the Company’s About or Life page on LinkedIn. Click the "I’m Interested" button to let recruiters know you're open to opportunities with them. Simple, yet powerful! 3. Engage with the Brand Like, comment, and share content from companies you admire. It’s a subtle yet effective way to spotlight your profile and show recruiters you're genuinely interested. 4. Be an Active Talent Stay active on LinkedIn. Update your profile regularly and turn on the "share resume" feature. LinkedIn will highlight your profile if you’re active or if there’s been recent layoffs at your company. 5. Connect with Employees Build connections within companies you're interested in. Recruiters notice if you have internal connections, increasing your chances of a referral. 6. Open to Work Feature Turn on the "Open to" feature and specify the roles you’re seeking. This helps recruiters match you to suitable positions quickly. 7. Share Your Resume with Recruiters Upload your resume under Job Seeking Preferences in your settings. Make it searchable for recruiters so they can easily find your experience and skills. These LinkedIn features can make a world of difference in your job search. Don't just read this—act on it. Your dream job could be just a click away! Drop me a message, and let’s discuss how we can elevate your profile. #CareerStrategies #ResumeTips #JobSearch #LinkedInTips #ProfessionalGrowth #Recruitment #JobHunting #Networking #CareerDevelopment #LinkedInProfile #PersonalBranding

As a LinkedIn member looking for work, I value the power of connections. However, it can be frustrating when a recruiter contacts you about a great opportunity, you respond with interest, send your resume, and then...nothing. Is it reasonable to expect a response, especially when you were approached in the first place? Let's discuss in the comments. #jobsearch #recruiting #networking

📢Tip for job seekers If you're updating your #LinkedIn to "Open to Work" and sharing the green banner with the blurb, do yourself a favor and make a few key updates to it. Be sure to include what roles you're looking for and which locations you're open to. Most people will scan through posts without fully clicking into profiles, so having your target roles and location listed upfront in your blurb makes it clear from the start. This small change can significantly improve your visibility and help recruiters know right away if you're a good match for their openings. It’s a simple but effective way to boost your job search. 💯

I've seen this "Interested in working with us in the future?" prompt in the "About" section on many company profiles on LinkedIn. In the past, I've clicked "I'm interested" for multiple companies. However, I never noticed any real difference—no job alerts, no follow-up from a recruiter, nothing. Could anyone please explain to me the point of this feature? Has anyone had a different experience or found it useful in any way? What does it even mean, "You'll be noted as expressing interest for up to a year?" Does that notification land in some random recruiter's LinkedIn messages, only to be ignored or deleted? #LinkedIn #Features #CompanyProfiles #Recruiters #Jobs
