The Million-Dollar Question: For the first time in history, the doctor-patient relationship is changing with the advent of scribe and other AI tools. How should this new doctor-patient relationship look? Recently, The The New York Times shared a major study showing that AI can make better diagnoses than doctors. Additionally, a majority of doctors are now using AI scribe services. AIGP Health is launching Doctor Assistant, which can take a detailed history and document it for you. It’s like a scribe + and additional service combined. With all these advancements, do you think doctors should still focus on diagnosis—which takes up 80-90% of our time currently—or shift their focus toward the Care? Should we take more time to explain the diagnosis and discuss care and management instead? These are exciting times. Personally, I would prefer to spend more time on the care aspect, where most of the outcomes depend.
