Today I am sharing a personal story If I had to visualise the abstract concept of "passion"—for a sport, career, hobby or ideal — I’d imagine a fire. 🔥 Just like a fire, the flames are born small and mild, flickering in the background, often unnoticed at first. It's usually curiosity, sparks of interest, but with each new contact that flame starts to burn brighter. Every experience or activity will powerfully fuel that fire. For me, if I had to tell a storyline, the love for cars is... My little hand moving the bright flame-painted cars to their toy garage. The colorful carpet with the race-track drawn on it. The excitement every time my family had a new car. Entering my first ever automotive museo, curiously peeking around. The pure excitement when I pushed the accelerator for the first time. The thrill of sitting in a roaring German sports car. The first university research on this product. My legs shaking, while standing in front of the huge building on the first day working at a worldwide automotive company. The adrenaline of the first time walking on a F1 race-track! What's next? It really seems that these experiences rise exponentially. I don't know if I will always be so lucky to stay in the automotive sector. I like having the opportunity to work with products I truly admire and adore. But if I ever won't, I am sure that there will be countless other ways of letting this fire burn forever. ❓ Is there anything in your job that is related to one of your passions? Can you recall "the first spark" of that flame? 🔥 Thank you for hitting 6k connections, I'm humbled to see this community grow so rapidly! 🏎️ 💨 #Automotive #Motorsport #cars --- Hello. Porsche's expected dip in profitability amidst a year of major new model launches sparks a key point for communicators: sometimes, short-term sacrifice is crucial for long-term brand evolution. Key takeaways for anyone in marketing and PR: 📌 Messaging During Transitions: How do you maintain brand enthusiasm when results aren't immediate? It's about communicating the vision of where the product or company is headed. 📌 Transparency Builds Trust: Being upfront about challenges can bolster investor and customer confidence. Porsche isn't hiding their forecast, but framing it as part of their strategy. 📌 Adapting to Market Shifts: What does this tell us about the luxury car sector? Shifts in consumer demand and competitor moves impact messaging. Brands aren't static. Navigating periods of change requires a communications strategy just as carefully crafted as the product itself. How do you ensure your messaging keeps clients and customers engaged even during periods of adjustment? #branding #communications #luxurymarket #productlaunch #strategy

It’s disappointing to see how quickly the industry turns on its own. Critiquing work is important, but when it turns into a viral free for all with everyone jumping on the same bandwagon, it loses its value and becomes toxic. The Jaguar repositioning is the latest example, with opinions flying before the full campaign is even understood. Let’s not forget there are real people behind this - working to bring bold ideas to life. Instead of joining the crowd, we should focus on understanding the "why" behind their decisions. Let's consider the facts... - Did Jaguar’s rebrand create shock and mass awareness? Yes - 106M views on the X post alone. - Did Jaguar need to appeal to a younger audience? Yes - their average buyer is in their mid-50s. - Were Jaguar’s sales declining? Yes - in 2022, they reported a 66% drop compared to their 2018 peak. Will the rebrand succeed? Only time will tell. But instead of tearing it apart, let’s ask the right questions and give the work a fair chance. Sources: Autocar, NewYork Post, Motor1

|| 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗿𝘆 || Last week, during a conversation with Financial Express (India), I was asked to recall an #engaging and #memorable #advertisement that strengthened brand loyalty and to share my #learnings from it. I referred to and recalled the amazing ad for the BMW i8 Roadster, which was released on May 22, 2019. 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙨: The BMW advertisement I referred is a creative and humorous scenario where a senior official, resembling the retiring Mercedes-Benz CEO 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗭𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲, is driven home in a Mercedes S-Class on his last day at work. The twist comes when he opens his garage at home and drives away in a BMW i8 Roadster. The tagline "𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛" appears, followed by a note of thanks to Zetsche for "𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣". See this amazing advertisement here @ https://lnkd.in/gCVVEYUp 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜: The BMW advertisement featuring the retiring Mercedes-Benz CEO provides several business lessons: 1) 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑹𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒚: Acknowledging and celebrating competition can enhance brand image. 2) 𝑬𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈: Using relatable narratives, like retirement and freedom, connects emotionally with audiences. 3) 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈: The ad highlights BMW’s focus on driving pleasure and personal freedom, differentiating it from competitors 4) 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: Humorous and creative twists capture attention and leave a lasting impression. 5) 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒔: Utilizing multiple platforms maximizes reach and impact, demonstrating the importance of a cohesive marketing strategy These elements combine to create engaging and memorable advertisements that strengthen brand loyalty. I always hear "What is branding?" Simple. What's the difference between BMW & Mercedes? They're both powerful and luxurious german cars. In a BMW, you might imagine being on the race track, pedal to the floor, being thrown into the back of your seat. In a Mercedes, you might imagine being in the backseat while drinking champagne and being driven by your chauffeur. That's branding. It's the story you tell and how your audience feels about you. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 If #brands want to survive, they need to evolve with changes in technology, society, consumer preferences and market maturity. Marketers know this quite well that brands that have stood the test of time are the ones who had their eyes and ears to the ground to adapt, learn, pivot and grow. Here 👇 is a wonderful example of the evolution of BMW #Marketing

🌟 The Power of Emotional Storytelling in Branding 🌟 In a world where attention is fleeting, authenticity and emotional connection make all the difference. This recent reel is a masterclass in storytelling – showing how emotions can drive decisions and create lasting bonds between brands and their audience. This campaign is a reminder that brands must strike a delicate balance between innovation and authenticity. Successful storytelling, as seen in impactful campaigns, is not just about aesthetics or modernity—it's about crafting narratives that evoke emotion and build lasting connections (see the recent backlash Jaguar's - Copy Nothing rebrand missing that emotional core). 💥 The Volvo campaign, "For Life," and what makes it so impactful: https://lnkd.in/dPDmNk7h 🔹 Emotions at the Core The video captures raw human emotions – empathy, joy, and connection – in a way that resonates deeply with viewers. It reminds us that great storytelling is about sharing relatable experiences and making people feel understood. 🔹 A Story That Speaks to Everyone Simple yet universal, the narrative is accessible to all, crossing cultural and contextual barriers. It shows how great stories are not just told but felt. 🔹 Brand Integration Done Right The brand isn’t pushed but subtly woven into the fabric of the story. Its values – authenticity, care, and connection – shine through naturally. This approach transforms the brand into more than a provider of products; it becomes a part of its audience’s life story. 🔹 Elegant Visuals, Aligned with the Brand Every frame is intentional – clean, refined, and emotionally evocative. The visuals enhance the story without overshadowing the message, reinforcing the brand’s sophistication and ethos. This reel reminds us that people don’t just buy products; they buy emotions and stories. When brands connect authentically, they create trust, loyalty, and memorability. Bravo to the team behind this stunning example of emotional branding! 🌟 #Storytelling #Branding #Authenticity #EmotionalConnection #MarketingDoneRight
