🌍 Navigating the Data Challenges of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) 🌍 I’m excited to share a white paper I co-authored that delves into the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)—focusing on the data challenges and the concept of double materiality that businesses must address. Under CSRD, companies are required to disclose comprehensive information across various Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) areas. Key mandatory disclosure requirements include: 📊 Double Materiality: Companies must report on how sustainability issues affect their business and how their business impacts the environment and society. 🌍 Environmental Matters: Disclosures on greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, resource use, and biodiversity impacts. 👥 Social Matters: Information regarding employee welfare, human rights policies, and community engagement. ⚖️ Governance Matters: Details on business ethics, anti-corruption measures, and governance frameworks. 📈 Standardized Reporting: Compliance with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which include 82 disclosures and 1,144 data points. ✅ Assurance Requirement: Mandatory third-party auditing of sustainability information to ensure accuracy and credibility. Our white paper addresses how organizations can navigate these challenges and meet the data collection, verification, and reporting requirements, while also leveraging this framework to drive sustainable growth and transparency.
