Key findings include: ✓ Legislation isn’t enough: Over 50% of women still face workplace barriers, such as low self-confidence, microaggressions, and stereotypes. ✓ Fear of speaking up: Widespread concerns about professional backlash prevent women from voicing their ideas in meetings. ✓ Intersectional inequalities: Disabled women face the greatest barriers, while Black women receive the least career support and shoulder more domestic responsibilities. ✓ Work-life balance crisis: More than half of women executives feel they are failing as parents, underscoring the persistent challenges for leadership advancement. ✓ Business imperative: Organisations ignoring these issues risk losing top talent in an increasingly competitive market. A New Era for Women: Demanding Change and Respect We are stepping into a new era—an era where women are no longer waiting for change; we are demanding it. We are claiming our space, our voice, and our worth in every arena, from the boardroom to the classroom, from healthcare to politics. 🌍✨ Respect is not optional. It is a fundamental right. This era is about no longer accepting the bare minimum or being reduced to stereotypes or biases. We are demanding equality, respect, and recognition for the contributions, brilliance, and leadership we bring to every space we enter. Here’s what this new era looks like: • Women challenging outdated norms: We are breaking free from limiting expectations and reshaping industries, cultures, and systems that have tried to hold us back. • Women demanding respect: No longer will we tolerate disrespect, condescension, or discrimination. We are setting boundaries and requiring the respect we deserve in every interaction. • Women leading change: From fighting for equal pay to creating safer work environments and advocating for health equity, women are leading the charge for transformative change. This is a call to all women to rise up, stand firm, and be unapologetic in demanding the respect, opportunities, and recognition we’ve earned. Together, we are creating a future where our brilliance is celebrated, and our voices are heard. We will no longer be silenced. This is our time. #WomenDemandChange #RespectWomen #EqualityNow #BreakTheBias #WomenInLeadership #RiseUpWomen #EmpoweredWomen #NewEraForWomen #DemandRespect #FutureIsFemale

Recently, we set out to understand just how much progress has been made on expanding women’s power and influence in the U.S. since 2019, when our founder, Melinda French Gates, committed her first $1 billion to address this issue. The headline? While we’ve seen some promising gains over the past five years, some of the biggest obstacles to women’s power and influence are the barriers women face at work. In an interview with Economist Impact, Pivotal’s Renee Kuriyan Wittemyer highlights what exactly is holding women back, what Pivotal and partners are doing to address these challenges, and how leaders and policymakers can better support women in the workplace. Working women: we'd really like to hear about your experiences at work. Less women on Boards, more inflammatory comments and content (from all sides) on the gender divide, reduced support, strain on finances and continuing pressure from caring responsibilities are just some of the factors professional women are relating to just now. The Girls Club - Network is doing their annual survey and your voice will help to drive awareness and change. #equalopportunity #equality #womenatwork #professionalwomen

CALLING ALL WOMEN LEADERS - DONT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Thanks so much to all the women who have already completed The Girls Club - Network Insight Survey 2025. With your help we're starting to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change to create a more equitable workplace. The early results are as insightful as they are shocking, such as the disconnect between 70% of women leaders saying they feel very / confident to REPORT sexist or inappropriate behaviour but only 30% feel very / confident that ACTION will be taken - do you agree?? and why is this?? HAVE YOUR SAY … please either complete the survey and share it with other women leaders in your personal and professional networks. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ebuYYfXi The more voices we hear, the more impact we can make. We’ll be sharing the results at our International Women’s Day event on March 5th, and everyone that takes part can request a summary of the findings. The survey takes just 10-15 minutes to complete, is completely confidential, and is open to women leaders from all sectors and all countries. Survey closes January 27th so don't miss your chance to have your say. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ebuYYfXi Thanks so much for helping us drive meaningful change. #TGCInsight2025 #TGCrocks #womenleaders #womensupportingwomen #equityintheworkplace

Professional women (not) rising the ranks – a problem of “a broken rung” in the ladder or of a too slow ascent? I always read McKinsey&Company’s annual report “Women in the workplace”. Even if I cannot say I ever much appreciated the “Lean in” connection. I always felt it’s less of an issue of women not “leaning in” than not being “given a hand up”. And, if its not working, does one really need the blame and the feeling that one didn’t “lean in” enough?! Anyway, look at the stats: apart from very clearly showing race-related issues in North America (remember data is US+Canada only), it shows that white women don’t loose that much ground in the first four levels, but then less make the final steps. I suspect it is also because women statistically rise too slowly through the ranks due to pausing for child birth/care. You’d have to look at the average age of women vs men in the various levels. This is the corporate world - what is it in the #humanitarian and #internationaldevelopment sector? A broken rung in the lower levels maybe? I heard the #ICRC President (a lady) explain that she just didn’t see enough women who had been nurtured to take up very senior roles around her, and that is why she could not promote women more than she does, as it would just be putting them up for failure. I’m still thinking about what to think about that comment …

CALLING ALL WOMEN LEADERS ….HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD In January 2024, The Girls Club - Network, a thriving community of over 2,800 women leaders, conducted our first-ever Insight Survey to explore what women leaders need to reach their full potential—both at work and at home. Our goal was to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and what changes are needed to create a more equitable workplace. The findings were eye-opening (check out the infographic for some shocking insights)! This year, we’re launching the survey again with updated questions on critical topics like sexism, flexible working, and ageism. We’d greatly appreciate your support! HAVING YOUR SAY … please either complete the survey or share it with the women leaders in your personal and professional networks. The more voices we hear, the more impact we can make. We’ll be sharing the results at our International Women’s Day event on March 5th, and all respondents can request a copy of the topline findings. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ebuYYfXi The survey takes just 10-15 minutes to complete, is completely confidential, and is open to women leaders worldwide. Make sure to participate by January 27th! Thank you in advance for helping us drive meaningful change. #TGCInsight2025 #TGCrocks #womenleaders #womensupportingwomen #equityintheworkplace

Women in Professional Roles: Transforming the Landscape In the grand corridor of progress, women today stride forward with confidence, grace, and resilience, much like a river carving its path through diverse terrains, shaping the landscape over time. As I reflect on my professional image, I see a woman who embodies the transformation we witness in the professional world. The world has changed significantly for women in professional roles. The corridors of corporations, once echoing with uniformity, now resonate with diverse voices and perspectives. Women are no longer just participants; they are leaders, innovators, and trailblazers. They navigate challenges with the precision of an artist and the strength of a warrior, balancing their roles with unmatched elegance. Just as a river overcomes obstacles in its path, women have persevered through societal expectations and structural barriers, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. They bring a unique blend of empathy and assertiveness, transforming workplaces into environments of inclusivity and growth. To every woman navigating her professional journey, know that your presence is reshaping the landscape. Your efforts are not just personal triumphs but milestones that pave the way for future generations. Continue to move forward with the same determination and grace, for you are the architects of a brighter, more equitable world. #WomenInLeadership #ProfessionalWomen #BreakingBarriers #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenEmpowerment
