Here's how one of the best stations in America does TV News.
Ready to get fired up? Carolyn Mungo recently posted WFAA's 75th anniversary special, and what a blast it was to watch. I made the mistake of clicking into the link below right before bedtime, and of course, had to watch it right to the end. So great to see investigative superstars Brett Shipp and Byron Harris back on Channel 8 along with loads of familiar faces who told the Texas story. Decades of really tremendous journalism produced by a dedicated staff with the highest standards. Makes you want to go out and stick a mic in someone's face. This was the team across the street from the stations where Jade Kurian (NBCUniversal's KXAS-TV among others) and I (KDFW-TV FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth) worked, and it's true that there's nothing more motivational than having really good competition. In Dallas, we were always motivated. What a tremendous TV market. Remembering #BELO, and respecting TEGNA. So much love for great journalism. https://lnkd.in/g7MEtM7F

Our client the American Theatre Wing is the founder and co-presenter of the Tony Awards. The Wing also works year-round supporting creatives--and not just professionals. One of its signature programs is the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative, which provides grants to under-resourced schools in the U.S. and individual scholarships for afterschool and summer training programs and students pursuing theatre in college. The Wing’s President and CEO Heather A. Hitchens told EdSource: "This is such a meaningful initiative for us at the Wing. From repairing an auditorium’s audio system so that productions can once again be amplified, to creating set-design apprenticeships between theatre companies and schools, the needs are specific and varied, and the results are real. Directly due to the programs of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative, more theatre and art is created by students who might not otherwise have this opportunity. Their education is being enhanced, as is the pipeline to careers in the theatre industry,” #theatre #artists #creative #entertainmentindustry #education #ceo #leadership #schools #broadway #production #culture #television #performance #broadcasting #communications #collegesanduniversities #strategiccommunications #equity

Episode 636 - Cambridge InsideOut: Nov 19, 2024 (Part 2) This episode was recorded on Nov 19, 2024 at 6:30pm. Topics: Many opportunities for City boards and commissions; City Council diminution of authority of the Planning Board, growing City Council opposition to public input; process underway to ruin Broadway for the Cycling Safety Ordinance, removal of 75% of parking - all a done deal to rubber-stamp plans of City staff, possible political backlash, Traffic and Parking Department and other City departments don't care; Linkage fee increases, Nexus studies, and proposal for Job Training Trust - how much is too much?; Dramatic upzoning proposal disguised as “ending exclusionary zoning” - potential for major political backlash, dumping all the negative effects onto the “corridors” for political expedience; status of possible City Charter changes - things that could use revision and things that should remain. Host: Robert Winters Reference: https://lnkd.in/ebn5yds5
