Goa on our minds and cocktails in our hearts — the holiday spirit has us reminiscing about one of our favorite events! 🍸✨ VC Cocktails was our fun take on networking, where founders and investors teamed up to craft cocktails in under 10 minutes. It wasn’t just about the drinks but about creating a relaxed space for conversations to flow. A little creativity, a lot of laughter, and some great connections — that’s what it was all about. And we can't wait for the next round! #Together #VC #Founders #Holidays

Stage swaps are an underrated strategy that can transform your live event marketing and bring in quality participants. We used the 3 strategies as described below 👇 Here's how we leveraged it to fill our September 2023 retreat with ease! In September 2023, we did something different for our retreat launch—stage swaps. Collaborating with incredible leaders, including Martha Razo at XBS 23 & Chris Gandy, opened doors to new audiences and brought in highly aligned participants. Here’s what we learned: 1. Expand Your Reach Without Extra Ad Spend: By sharing stages, we instantly expanded our visibility to engaged communities without the need for heavy ad budgets. It's about leveraging existing networks for organic growth. 2. Build Instant Trust with New Audiences: When you share a stage with trusted leaders, their audience is more likely to trust you too. This credibility boost brings quality participants who are already invested in the type of transformation you're offering. 3. Foster Mutually Beneficial Partnerships: Stage swaps create win-win relationships. We helped our partners grow, and in return, we gained exposure to communities that fit perfectly with our retreat values and mission. If you're looking to fill your next event, consider stage swaps as a key strategy. The right strategic partnerships can be a game-changer! #partnerships #liveevents #retreats #scale #growth

There are many metrics that we look at when we track our progress as a firm but there's none more important than founder validation. They are the ones who create the magic and venture only works because of them. It's a privilege to have an opportunity to work with such phenomenal and driven people. Thanks Josh Levy, it's been an amazing ride and it's just getting started! #startup #founders #contech #venturecapital Zacua Ventures Document Crunch
REAL TALK: ⏬ is for ANYONE out there who has a big idea in their heart. This "best people" concept really resonates. I even made my 10 year old daughter watch today. Here are the special ones for me when I think about the Document Crunch journey: 1️⃣ Adam & Adam with zero doubts from day 1 2️⃣ Trent pushing me to think bigger as I was finding my footing as CEO 3️⃣ Vivin Hegde/Zacua Ventures for believing even before our product was baked https://lnkd.in/gezRDjP9

Episode 8️⃣is out and it's a juicy one! We’ve spent a lot of time on the pod talking about startups, and now we’re going to shift gears to talk about the finish line, and what the climate is looking like for exits. The IPO market has been virtually non-existent the past couple years, and M&A activity (particularly for Big Tech) has been stagnant. That said, there is a ton of capital sitting on the sidelines, seemingly ready to jump in when conditions improve. Coupled with the volume of early-stage companies that have matured from concept to commercialization since the pandemic, this combination of dry powder, lower interest rates, and a new administration taking over that is anticipated to be more deal-friendly all seem to point to conditions ripening nicely for more M&A activity. So, what does the state of M&A look like in the travel tech sector heading into 2025? Is the market open for business again, and if so, who is buying what? Friends of the pod Roopak Pati, Morgann Lesné and Jonathan Weibrecht join us to discuss and debate what's ahead for the travel sector on the M&A front next year and beyond 👇 https://lnkd.in/g5z4tJ_e

It's been a haaaard week! Nothing devastating has happened. In fact nothing much has happened at all. Which, when you're trying to build a business in a fast-moving market where it feels like time is running out is possibly one of the most frustrating aspects of the startup world. It's been an 'almost' week, full of great conversations with the right people. Lots of positive feedback, information to challenge thinking leading to the assessment of different options. But ostensibly, there has been no practical movement from where we were last week. This is obviously not true, it's just the perception. The work done this week sets up the movement that will occur next week and beyond. But it doesn't make it feel any less hard. So, sometimes it's good to find something to rebalance the perspective. Last night I attended a great event hosted by Mark Dombkins and Forever Projects. Incredible speakers passionate about their craft, a wonderful event with great energy in the room. I connected with a few people but left earlier than I normally would after the expert discussion. Sometimes you just need to accept that your head is not fully in the game. And this meant that, instead of my usual cutting it fine I had some spare time before my ferry, allowing for a short stroll and a moment of contemplation looking at that 👇 view. I moved to Sydney almost thirty-five years ago from a small town in the north of England. The kind of place that doesn't offer many prospects. And I loved it here from the second my foot hit the tarmac. That vista still takes my breath away, even though I get to experience it more than most. But sometimes we can be so mired in the weeds that we forget to look up. For so many people, for so many different reasons, this has been a tough year. This is your reminder to occasionally look up and take in the everyday awe, and hopefully remind yourself of the things that keep you going. #StartupLife #SocialConnection #Amicii
