Education in times of crisis! There are hundreds and thousands of students who are struggling to continue their education because of poverty and millions are out of school because of the conflict in Ethiopia. Students, our hopes, potential leaders in the world and great minds are trapped due to the stated problems. We are unable support millions of students to continue their education, but can support few. STEM plus community development charitable organization is a new and emerging local development organization, started the long journey of establishing a STEM village in Ethiopia, where great mind students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) come to the city and realize their dream. 👉Join our journey of bringing STEM students trapped in rural parts of the country because of poverty and conflict. 👉Let us bring them, give proper clothing, housing, food and education. I am thrilled to announce that The Hg Foundation, a grant-giving charity focused on improving tech education and skills, is partnering with IFS and the IFS Foundation to promote #STEM skills in remote and rural communities in Sri Lanka. The Hg Foundation has approved a grant to enable the construction of a computer lab, and staff training, to deliver IT and STEM classes in the village of Weralugahamula. GITL 1 Dollar Campaign Hi, this is Girls In Technology Liberia (GITL), a registered non-profit organization in Liberia bridging the gender gap in tech. We are raising funds to continuously provide free digital skills training, secure scholarships, and organize tech workshops for women and girls. Every donation you make will help meet GITL's educational needs, support digital skills training, and expand access to technology for Liberian women and girls in the following ways: 1. Can you help keep the wonder alive? Before I started working for Engineering New Zealand I didn’t really appreciate or understand the work of engineers and the essential role they play in our daily lives. So maybe you don’t either? Stop for a minute and think about your interactions today - your commute, your office, your house, your technology, yours or your loved one’s medical care, your hobbies…the list goes on. None of this would exist without engineering. Engineering truly is everywhere, and we all need engineers. So you’ll no doubt understand how important it is to keep the pipeline of engineers strong. At Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau we run a successful free STEM programme at primary schools, inspiring kids into STEM education. And this programme, the Wonder Project, really works! And it also gets more girls and Māori and Pacific Peoples excited about STEM, yay 🙌 But unfortunately, we're short of funding for 2025 to continue to deliver this impactful programme to schools in Aoteraoa 💔😔 We’ve had some incredible organisations step up to support our mission since we lost our government funding in 2023. It's another week to talk about what I love...🙂 As we continue to make progress in the pilot of the #UbunyeDigitalProgram for Girls, I can't but be happier with the fact that not only am I doing what I really love, I can see the likely positive outcomes that will impact not just the girls, education and the country. Let me share a few. The consideration for inclusion has us bringing 7girls in school and 7 girls out of school irrespective of religion, educational level, age etc together to gain basic knowledge on and about digitalisation. The expected outcome is to build friendships that motivate and to stir the consciousness that computer knowledge is for everyone while creating an equal opportunity. The consideration for safe spaces embedded within the training is to ensure that they had room to be self. Formal School and home may not give them this and knowing how confusing teen age can be, it has been quite rewarding to have them drop short notes in the safe box speaking about their lived experiences. The application of Art as a tool for expression always works. Black pages, drawings, music etc. Through these, I hear and see them even more. With their artistic expressions I connect with their thoughts, dreams and aspirations. Having the program within an existing school in a local community is not only to improve the students but to motivate those out of school to return. The hope is that Ubunye through PRET Consultancy and public charitable funds can support these girls to return to school. They love school, they just lack the finance. Games, laughter, dancing... of course, not only is what kids love, it takes away the effect of other stressor. Except for one or two that were sick a day or two, they do not miss classes. The school said "Go on with it, we love what you doing". The girls said "Can we have it for another month? "😁😆 If getting an education is the only bragging right I have, I am happy to show other girls how to brag with it too. Want to be a part of it? Bienvenue!! 😁
