Imagine the smile on my face when I woke up to see that today is National Kindness Day. Of course, it was made even better when I saw the announcement via my Dutch Bros Coffee App that because of Nation Kindness Day, I get 2X points for getting my morning mocha. 😁 I’m not sure how I didn’t have this on my own calendar as, if you’ve been following me for any length, you know that Kindness is one of my core values. Kindness helps us see each other’s views, trials, and tribulations. In business, a significant number of my clients have come to me and told me that my kindness is what drew them to me and made them want to work with me. Kindness is calming. It’s the act that overcomes language barriers and can stop wars. And, it’s the catalyst that can turn prospects into clients. Clients into friends. Everything from opening a door for someone to handing a homeless guy $5, to offering sage advice to a budding entrepreneur, your kindness creates a ripple effect. As I start my day with my mocha, I’m getting ready to speak for a great group of entrepreneurs in a short bit followed by a slam packed day of coaching, guiding others, and trying to be a kind leader. My goal is to be kind to everyone I encounter today and add value to their day. To make them smile and feel that our interaction was time well spent. For me, this is my goal every day. I ask myself almost daily “Who am I going to add value to today?” and it’s the thing that drives me forward. I feel the world would be a better place if we all started with that question. So here’s my midweek challenge for you… Make use of the holiday and be kind. ✌️
