In our latest RAP Insights video, I dive into how to start meaningful engagement with First Nations communities. Spoiler: it starts with listening, not talking. Building trust takes time and effort, and it begins with respect, empathy, and showing up to learn. In this video, I stress the importance of engaging with diverse stakeholders within the community—there's no one-size-fits-all approach. A key takeaway? You can’t rush the process. Relationships with First Nations communities are long-term, and every project you work on has a lasting impact. You need to understand and respect cultural protocols to show that you’re serious about building meaningful connections. #RAPInsights #Reconciliation #CommunityEngagement #FirstNations #ListeningAndLearning #CulturalRespect #RAPLeaders #DiversityAndInclusion

Chat understands the negative impact of open defecation, which motivates her to volunteer for children’s well-being as World Vision Cambodia begins its operations in her village in the Samrong district. The contribution from Chat, local authorities, and partners has achieved Open Defecation Free (ODF) status after 14 years of continuous efforts by local authorities, partners, and Chat herself, becoming the first in the Samrong district. Have you ever had a large goal that you knew would take a village to accomplish? My goal is to impact families, communities, and countries that speak five languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and German. I am looking for 144,000 supporters to support this goal to reach the Diaspora with words of encouragement all around the world! When we are together we can change our families, communities, cultures, and the world over. Each book you pledge to support will allow the message of Yah to reach your connected kin that is across the waters, but unified by Spirit, tribe, and bloodline. If your community, family, or organization can understand the need to unify, please support by pledging. Visit AuthorKLee.com and select Pledge. You can support with your initial pledge and receive 50 books from various genres that help build family and community. If you are a Premiere supporter, you will get 25 free downloads from selected books. And if you are an Elite supporter, you will get 100 free downloads of select books! The downloads you can gift to others or accept payments to offset the initial pledge. Thank you to the individuals, families, organizations, churches, and businesses that pledge to help us unify and rebuild families around the world! #authorklee

🍽️🚌 You’re invited to a party, but you can’t drive. How do you get there? 🚶♀️🛴 Is public transit available? Are the sidewalks safe? For many, navigating social events without a car is challenging and often isolating. What can we do to make it easier for everyone to participate in social life, regardless of their ability to drive? In today’s RAP Insights video, I share how RAPs can create real, lasting impact in First Nations communities—if they’re approached the right way. 🖤💛❤️ A RAP can absolutely make a difference, but the key lies in building trust, respect, and genuine relationships. It’s not enough to just roll out initiatives and expect immediate results. I’ve seen organisations think they can engage with First Nations communities and get immediate buy-in, but that’s not how it works. Trust and respect take time to earn, and it’s critical to prioritise the aspirations and needs of the communities you’re working with. In this video, I highlight the importance of slowing down to build that trust, while also emphasising the ongoing nature of maintaining respect. It’s not a one-and-done deal—trust is something that requires continuous effort. I also discuss the risks of pushing your own agenda rather than listening to the community—you risk reputational damage and poor outcomes. So, are you making time for long-term partnerships and genuine community engagement? Is your RAP truly aligned with the aspirations of First Nations communities? Watch the video to learn how to drive reconciliation with the right mindset and approach. Let me know your thoughts in the comments—how are you building and maintaining trust in your RAP journey? #Reconciliation #TrustBuilding #CommunityEngagement #FirstNations #RAPLeadership #DiversityandInclusion #CorporateResponsibility
