“We have security covered” No you don’t chaps Security guidelines being issued at agricultural educational institutions is not having security covered. Unless the rural industry start putting rural security into their agricultural curriculum, then young farmers in 10 years will only have a small industry to work in. The three layers of rural security are: 1. Regional Crime Units 2. Physical & Technical Security 3. Farmers The weak link in the chain, is and will always be the farmers because we know they are busy doing farm stuff, but it’s that lack of a security culture that is exploited by criminal gangs and traveller groups, as well as spontaneous criminals. That security culture starts the day you start your career in the industry, because it gets ingrained into your brain with training and learning, NOT from reading guidelines.
