The Canadian Mental Health Association’s annual Mental Health Week looks to shift attitudes and perceptions about mental health. The 2024 theme is #CompassionConnects which highlights the healing power of compassion. With worrying levels of stress, anxiety, and loneliness heightened by social inequality and an affordability crisis, it is easy to overlook that kindness is an integral part of our humanity. This #MentalHealthWeek, let's embrace the power of compassion! As the CMHA highlights, kindness and understanding can be a powerful force for healing. Compassion isn't just about being kind to others, it's about extending that same kindness to ourselves. Let's join in exploring how compassion can connect us all and foster a more supportive environment for mental well-being. This week is Mental Health Week 🧠 This year’s theme, #CompassionConnects, resonates deeply with our practice at Viive. Many of our clients are caregivers to multiple generations, looking after older relatives AND young children at the same time. That demands a lot of emotional and physical energy. It’s no wonder that caregivers are at risk of burnout, depression, and anxiety. As a society, we owe caregivers the same level of compassion that they bring to their loved ones every single day. They need our compassion, recognition, and support more than ever.
