Serving isn't such a bad thing. As a servant leader, you're a "servant first". You focus on the needs of others before you consider your own. You acknowledge other perspectives, give people the support they need to meet their goals, involve them in decisions and discussions, and build a sense of community within your team. This leads to more involvement, more trust, and stronger relationships with the team and organization. #leadership #servantleadership

I once heard someone say that servant leadership is transformational leadership without the EGO. That's always resonated for me. Beyond that, ego inflates various biases that don't help us, anywhere within our organizations. Ego drives us to make poor decisions. Ego allows others to question our motives. Leave your ego in the bathroom. Dispose of it. Move forward with a servant's heart. Be a servant leader. Some say it's the only way to lead. It's the best way to lead.

Nobody ever said that being a leader is easy. It's very simple to bark out orders and dismiss someone if they are not performing, but it takes work to coach, mentor, inspire, and motivate your team to perform at their optimum best. That's the fundamental difference between a leader and a manager. According to John Maxwell, you must be willing to pay the price of leadership if you want the perks of leadership. As a leader, create a culture where your people are inspired to come up with great ideas and where the dreamers are encouraged to dream big dreams. Live your purpose by serving others; continually inspire your team to become the very best version of themselves because, ultimately, it will lift the organization to a higher level of performance.

Leadership is not merely about holding a position of authority or power; it is about inspiring and empowering others to achieve a shared vision. True leadership involves leading by example, demonstrating integrity, humility, and a commitment to the well-being of those you serve. It is about fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, where every individual feels valued and motivated to contribute their best. The essence of leadership lies in the ability to influence others positively, guiding them through challenges with empathy, courage, and resilience, and ultimately driving collective success while upholding ethical principles.
