How to Enjoy Sake with Geisha: Understanding What is a Geisha Banquet What is a Geisha Banquet? Enjoy Sake with Geisha to Understand the Manners Today, we will share how to enjoy sake with Geisha at a Ryotei or restaurants (such as Shimakin or Torijaya). Understanding this is very important to know what a Geisha banquet is. First and foremost, Geisha do not eat in front of guests. However, it is common for Geisha to drink alcohol during banquets. The Basic Etiquette at a Geisha Banquet The basic etiquette is that Geisha pour sake for the guests, and it is considered bad manners for guests to pour their own sake. In this way, Geisha pour sake for you, and in return, you can offer them a drink by saying, "Would you like some sake?" This makes the conversation more lively. Additionally, when a Geisha is performing, it is customary to put down your chopsticks and refrain from eating or drinking to enjoy the performance fully. When is the Best Timing to Offer Sake to Geisha? So, when is the best timing to offer sake to Geisha? The optimal time is after the Geisha has performed a dance (known as "Ozashiki wo Tsukeru"). After their performance, the Geisha will sit next to the guests. At this point, you can compliment them by saying, "Your dance was wonderful," or "Your shamisen playing was excellent," and then offer them a drink, such as, "Would you like a beer?" The guests should pour a beer for the Geisha, as Geisha never pour beer for themselves. If you are drinking sake, you can offer sake instead of beer. Another suitable time to offer sake to Geisha is right after they enter the room. Although they will not drink much before their performance, offering them a drink as a greeting can set a positive tone for the banquet. Saying, "I look forward to today. How about a drink (beer) as a greeting?" will please the Geisha and enhance their service throughout the banquet. Please note that any sake you offer to the Geisha will be charged to your bill. Geisha does not drink large amounts of alcohol, so these costs are considered part of the banquet fee. Check out my blog post https://wix.to/FzzoZ7r #newblogpost #geisha #geishagirl #kagurazaka

Nepal’s cocktail culture is undeniably flourishing. Traditionally known for drinking spirits neat, the market is now witnessing a creative renaissance, with bartenders pushing the envelope to craft inventive and delicious cocktails. Ajay Nayyar from Tulleeho had the privilege of judging the Himalayan Bartending Competition in Nepal, an event that illuminated a unique and dynamic side of Nepal’s evolving cocktail scene. His experience was a fascinating blend of tradition and innovation, where talented bartenders and mixologists paid homage to their “culture” while crafting extraordinary drinks. One of the competition’s key challenges was for participants to create a cocktail using Aila, a traditional rice-based spirit deeply rooted in Nepalese culture. (Aila is not yet commercially produced in Nepal, but it can be purchased in Newari restaurants that serve Newa cuisine. CNN has called aila one of the "50 most delicious drinks in the world). The second challenge revolved around incorporating a brand from the William Grants portfolio, one of the event’s co-sponsors and creating a contemporary cocktail. A particularly notable moment was when Rohan Shrestha, the eventual winner, was awarded a cash prize of 50,000 rupees. What made this gesture so significant was that the prize wasn’t handed over by a general manager or CEO but by a municipal collector. This gesture symbolized the local government’s direct involvement and recognition of the burgeoning cocktail scene. It’s clear that Nepal’s cocktail scene is evolving, and with such rich talent and community involvement, it’s only going to grow stronger. #Tulleeho #Nepal #Competition #drinks

🍸 𝔹𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣'𝕤 𝔾𝕠𝕝𝕕𝕖𝕟 ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠🍹 Sharing information on one of many conventional rules of bartending, commonly known as 'The golden ratio'. Though, It's a Bartender's secret. 😊😁 The 𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐 is a building block stipulated down for over 30+ of common Classic cocktails. It's a conventional formula laid on 3 basic parts. 1. The base or Spirit 2. Modifier or Citrus 3. Additional flavoring agent or sugar. The ratio 2:1:1 is a foundation that guides every bartender when mixing, in order to have a balanced refreshing and delicious 😋 drink. I can simply say it's a pattern for most of these known cocktails. With this pattern as a naive person, you can make, create and recreate cocktails from the comfort of your home. Making a cocktail like that of Margarita, Daiquiri, Gimlet or even Martini. Having your measurements to be; Spirit or base 50%, Modifier 25% and flavoring agent 25%. With this pattern, you can make multiple cocktails of your choice. Thank you. #Bartender #Mixologist #Marriott #MarriotInternational Four Points by Sheraton Lagos Marriott International

#Palace cuisine is the highest point that #Ottomancuisine can reach. The diet based on meat and milk, which came from the way of life in Central Asia, was continued. The #Turks, who were influenced by #Persian and #Arabcultures during the migration, carried the characteristics of these cultures to Anatolia. Finally, they met with different products grown in Anatolia, where they settled, and were also influenced by the. The #Ottomanpalacecuisine, which was highly diversified under the influence of different cultures, is very rich.26 Another important issue during this period was the #provision of the #palace. While the population of the palace was 4-5 thousand at the beginning of the 16th century, it was more than 10 thousand in the 17th century. For this reason, a #food #supply network was established for the food needs of the palace. The right of priority and the right to choose #quality products belonged to the palace. Products were generally brought from #Istanbul and the provinces. Among the #goods brought to the palace, some were reserved only for the #high class. No one except members of the dynasty and senior executives could consume these products.27 Some of these products; duck, pigeon, cream, kashkaval #cheese, some #freshfruits, caviar. This #cultural heritage continued with the transfer of the characteristics of the #Turks from Central #Asia to the #OttomanEmpire. These eating habits changed a little in the 15th century. If you can't find a local specialist retailer, there's always the internet.⠀⠀ 🍶⠀⠀ But while you can walk into a brick-and-mortar shop and have a look at how they're storing their sake, it's not so easy to evaluate an online retailer.⠀⠀ 🍶⠀⠀ A few things you can look for are:⠀⠀ * a wide range of different classes (which indicates a deeper awareness of sake in general)⠀⠀ * owners or staff with qualifications such as Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Sake, Sake Service Institute (SSI) Kikisake-shi/International Kikisake-shi, Sake Education Council (John Gauntner) Certified Sake Professional/Advanced Sake Professional, or accreditation from other groups like the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA) or Japan Sommelier Association (JSA)⠀⠀ * details of storage, handling and shipping that show the sake is kept cool and away from light⠀⠀ * detailed information on how the sake was made (indicates deeper awareness of requirements for storage and handling)⠀ * lots of tasting notes, pairing suggestions, etc.⠀ 🍶⠀⠀ Many specialist online retailers will also hold or attend events, online or in person, so if you want to try one see if they have a mailing list and find a chance to meet them.⠀⠀ 🍶 ⠀⠀ #discoversake #sake #nihonshu
