🌍 The Earth Prize 2024 Finalist Vince Wu is showcasing the power of youth-driven impact through his innovative project, HiveHealthy. By utilizing advanced sensors and AI, HiveHealthy provides real-time monitoring of honeybee health, enabling beekeepers to protect their hives from climate change, pesticides, and other risks. As a Finalist, Vince leveraged The Earth Prize's resources to strengthen his initiative, and he’s not stopping there. He is now scaling HiveHealthy by incorporating even more advanced sensor technology and collaborating with environmental researchers to enhance its capabilities. “I also try to stay involved in the non-technical side of environmentalism,” Vince told us. “Staying connected with your community and working together towards common goals, whether through technical research or social action, is important.” Vince's progress exemplifies the real-world impact that young innovators can achieve with the right support. 2023 was a successful year for Boehringer Ingelheim, also for our animal health business. The sales rise by 6.9% to 4.7 billion EUR reflects the commitment of our teams globally to serving our customers, including veterinarians, animal owners, farmers, livestock producers, and governments. Our recent launches of new pet parasiticides and therapeutics have strongly contributed to this success, accounting for over one-third of our net sales growth. This underlines the importance of innovation for our customers, leading us to increase our R&D investments by 17.7% to 546 million EUR.
