🚗🌊 Exploring Car Wading Capabilities 🌊🚗 In the automotive world, wading—driving through deep water at low speeds—is crucial for safely navigating flooded roads or crossing rivers. Knowing the possible wading depth is essential to prevent damaging the car. Using the DrivAer Model from the Institute of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics (TU Munich) for vehicle simulations, we at shonCloud analyze how cars perform in these challenging conditions with the help of shonDy. 📊 For a detailed look at our example wading simulation and other simulation cases, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eMBf3vKm. #Automotive #Wading #Simulation #shonCloud #Engineering #CAE #CFD #MPS

Automotive August - Brake Cooling CFD 🥵 https://lnkd.in/g_MdacS6 🚘 I just decided I will talk ALL automotive this August! 🚗 Brake cooling simulations are really useful to optimize performance of sporty - or racey - vehicles! 🏁 Let's see if I can find some on Hockenheimring next week. I will participate in Formula Student as an Aerodynamics Design Judge - and I am really looking forward to this! 🏎️ Actually, I have never done brake cooling simulations for my old racecar - because I was more than busy with aerodynamics. But I had sooo many ideas in my mind! 🔥 One way could be a steady approach, constant temp on disc and brake pad, trying to optimize the power of heat loss with parametric design studies (--> Design Manager) or doing some Adjoint geometry morphing! Do you tackle these problems in your development? Let me know how! #meshedpotato #simcenter #cfd #simulation #becauseracecar #formulastudent

🌟Tesla CYBERTRUCK aerodynamic🌟 How aerodynamic is the Tesla CYBERTRUCK? How does its unusual SUV design influence the aerodynamics? Numeric Systems GmbH had curiosity, and they decided to perform a simulation of the CYBERTRUCK using our CFD simulation software Pacefish. THEY OBTAINED A DRAG COEFFICIENT OF 0.39. For comparison, this value is almost double of the model S (Cd = 0.208*), higher than the speculated for the BMW iX (Cd = ~0.25**) or the 2020 Ram 1500 (Cd = 0.357***), but substantially lower than the speculated for the F150 lightning (Cd = ~0.56**). In terms of range compared to the model S, at high speeds the CYBERTRUCK is expected to lose range more than two times faster due to its bigger frontal area. 🌟POSITIVE SURPRISE🌟 Contrary to what many people would think, the sharp edge of the roof does not produce a big detachment! It is true that the flow it is not attached, but in fact the air follows down the slope quite seamlessly. The boundary layer does not substantially grow. This is quite remarkable and a big aerodynamic advantage compared to other pick-up trucks. Moreover, the diffuser makes a substantial effect in the center of the vehicle's rear-end! It creates suction and reduces the wake. 🌍 Source: Numeric Systems GmbH 🌍Original video: https://lnkd.in/e8BQzV5B #computationalfluiddynamics #aerodynamics #engineeredmind #science #technology #engineering #mechanicalengineering #physics #mathematics #cfd #simulation #ympactex #tesla #cybertrack #BMW

Enhancing Race Car Aerodynamics with Advanced Simulations! 🚗💨 At AsRa Tech, we successfully used Steady State Flow simulation in ANSYS Fluent to optimize the aerodynamics of our race car models. By focusing on the drag and lift coefficients, our study revealed interesting insights: Car Model A: Low drag coefficient but high lift, which presents design challenges. Car Models B & C: With add-on kits, they generated significant negative lift, increasing speed potential, though at the cost of a higher drag coefficient. Through detailed simulations, we are constantly improving race car performance, pushing the limits of speed and stability. 🔗For more information visit our website: www.asratech.com or email us at info@asratech.com #RaceCarAerodynamics #AsRaTech #CFD #ANSYSFluent #Engineering #Innovation #DragReduction #LiftCoefficient #SpeedOptimization #Aerodynamics #CarDesign #AutomotiveEngineering

The first test of the new tire model in Vehicle Physics Pro at the Nordschleife, from the point of view of the tires 😁 Everything goes mostly well until the car almost takes off and spins out at Kallenhard. The suspension setup still requires fine-tuning to adapt to the new tire flex model and keep aerodynamics happy. #VPPDev #Unity3D #MadeWithUnity #PERRINN #Project424 #Nordschleife #Motorsport #Engineering #Simulator #TireSimulation #GameDev
