Would you believe this stunning pink gown was once a wedding dress? Gemma Sort Chilvers, a 2023 bride, made waves by reimagining her bridal look, transforming it into a breathtaking gown that she can now wear again—an inspiring trend among eco-conscious brides. This transformation isn’t just about fashion; it represents a shift in how we approach clothing’s value and purpose. Instead of letting her wedding gown gather dust in storage, Gemma gave it new life, showing that cherished garments can be repurposed, reflecting personal style beyond the wedding day. More brides are following suit, recognizing that their dresses can have a second, or even third life, while also contributing to the sustainability movement. This trend speaks to a larger shift in the fashion industry, where consumers are seeking long-lasting, versatile pieces rather than single-use garments. As designers cater to this demand, offering gowns that can be altered or restyled for different occasions, the wedding dress becomes not just a symbol of one unforgettable day, but a lasting treasure. By choosing to rewear or upcycle their gowns, brides like Gemma are reducing waste, curbing the environmental impact of the fashion industry, and redefining luxury. It’s not about wearing something once; it’s about the stories a dress can tell over time, evolving with each wear and becoming a true symbol of sustainable elegance. Is this something you would consider as a Bride? You are the real MVP ♥️

Wedding dresses have a huge environmental impact. It's easy to see why, right? Typically, a wedding dress is made for one occasion only and to be worn once only. This is wedding fast fashion! There are approximately 250 000 weddings in the UK each year, that's 250 000 new dresses that are made in this country alone! For one day! Every dress has an environmental impact at every stage of its life, from where the material was grown / produced to the amount of energy and water was used to make the garment. Not forgetting the carbon footprint of the transportation for getting the dress to you and, of course, the social impact of making it. Shockingly, the textile industry, as whole, contributes to 300,000 tonnes of clothing ending up in landfill. All of us must take responsibility and make more conscious choices when it comes to our wardrobes. Including our wedding dresses. But just how can you make sure your dress doesn't harm the planet? ✅ Buy pre-loved: There are a lot of pre-loved bridal shops across a UK and there are many websites, too, where you can browse for your perfect pre-loved dress. A pre-loved dress also costs a fraction of a brand new gown, so it's a win win. ✅ Search for a boutique that sells dresses from environmentally conscious brands. ✅ Go for a bespoke gown: Find a local designer who is an advocate for slow fashion and ensures that only sustainable materials are used to create your gown. What do you think of the dresses below? They all have one thing in common - they are all pre-loved! Do you have a favourite? Comment below for fun 🎉. Personally, I love the off the shoulder number, I think it's so pretty and very playful. 💚 I am Em, a sustainable wedding consultant and planner. Did you know that 70% of brides are now opting for custom or first copy lehengas over traditional designer options? This shift is revolutionising the bridal fashion industry, and it’s easy to see why. Custom made lehengas are on the rise because today’s brides crave personalization. They’re no longer satisfied with off-the-rack designs; they want something that’s uniquely “theirs”. Working directly with designers, they can create a piece that perfectly matches their vision. It’s not just about looking good — it’s about telling their own story through their bridal wear. On the flip side, first copy designer lehengas are gaining traction for their practicality. Let’s face it—designer bridal wear comes with a hefty price tag. First copies offer an affordable alternative, delivering that same high-end look without the sky-high cost. The attention to detail in these pieces is impressive, making them a popular choice for brides who want luxury on a budget. So, why the shift? The rise of these options is putting pressure on traditional designer bridal wear. Brides are realising they don’t need to break the bank to achieve a stunning, high-quality look. Designers now face the challenge of either adapting to this demand for personalization and affordability or risk losing relevance in an industry that’s rapidly evolving. At Creazion Media, we’re all about helping brands navigate these market shifts. Connect with Gaurang Agarwal for your brand analysis. What’s the jury inclination—will traditional designer bridal wear survive this shift? #lehenga #designerwear #highfashion #highjewellery #brands #creazionmedia #designers #pearlacademy #nift #fashionschool #design #custommade #bridalwear #marraige Sabyasachi

Website #2JourCheck: Alaïa For a long time, Maison Alaïa was strongly associated with laser-cut bags and stretch-knit dresses. The brand slightly felt out of fashion to me, so I didn't really follow it. That is until some time ago. It all started with Le Cœur heart-shaped bags. The simple yet fresh idea became viral. Then there were heart pumps in all possible colours and heel heights. Then, net ballet flats had their moment. And now, I can't take my eyes off see-through dresses and Le Teckel hot-dog style bags. The latest ad has drawn even more of my attention. I mean, how cool is the idea of a Parisian Maison celebrating the power of femininity with sculptural silhouettes collaborating with the #CrazyHorse Paris, the legendary Parisian cabaret! It was this photo from this ad that I reposted on my private Instagram account, after which my long-term client asked me to help her order the bodysuit from the collection. *** Yes, #Alaia may not be the most important Maison within Richemont in terms of profit-making. But it has become viral in the past few years and hype wave could generate more revenues in case of strong e-commerce presence - by strong I mean informative, simple, yet unique. Just to remind - $45 #Stanley Cups have generated $750 mln revenue in 2023 by becoming viral. While Alaia is at different category and price point, it's price tag for viral models mentioned before may be still affordable for aspirational customers. *** Read more on my quick product page check of Maison ALAIA official website, gaps identified and suggestions for improvement in terms of customer-oriented approach: https://lnkd.in/daRcz8BD #LuxuryFashion #Richemont #ecommerce #retail #clientrelations
