Post 2/5: My Privacy Plan – The Three-Number System Data privacy in e-commerce is a growing challenge. To protect myself, I’ve developed a three-number system. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ For Banks and Government Apps Reserved for secure transactions. No spam, thanks to strict privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA, which require encryption and user consent for data sharing. 2️⃣ For Friends and Family Shared only with trusted contacts. Occasional spam, often due to indirect leaks via apps or social media platforms. A Norton study found that 60% of individuals unknowingly share personal information via social apps. 3️⃣ For Deliveries and Online Shopping My “public” number, used solely for e-commerce. This number gets 1–2 spam calls daily. According to Truecaller’s 2023 Global Spam Report, delivery-related data breaches are among the top sources of spam worldwide. Even with this system, my delivery number remains vulnerable. Why? Weak privacy standards in logistics. How do you protect your data when shopping online?
