Over 1,000 global cross-industry and government leaders are expected to attend a three-day interactive programme this December in one of the world’s fastest growing MICE destinations – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The Saudi MICE market is projected to expand exponentially with hallmark events such as World Expo 2030, expected to attract 40.7m visits to KSA alone. Its leadership has illustrated that long-term stability is not only a possibility but a sustainable reality, even amidst complex geopolitical landscapes. The UAE’s approach to modernization is distinctive, demonstrating that progress can be attained without compromising cultural identity. It showcases ongoing commitments to equality, peace, and coexistence, as evidenced by the harmonious living and thriving of residents from over 200 nationalities. Furthermore, the nation’s dedication to ensuring safety and security for all is a notable example of the rational and effective mobilization of resources. These attributes have fostered a social fabric where diversity is not merely accepted but celebrated, offering a valuable model for Islamic nations and the broader world. As we gather to celebrate this significant occasion, we acknowledge the UAE’s impressive milestones in becoming a global leader in attracting investment, tourism, and talent. Driven by Saudi Arabia’s diverse projects, the increasing interest in economic cooperation with Saudi Arabia worldwide is heartening. Yet while the financial advantages of this receive a lot of attention, the people of Saudi Arabia are also open to cultural and educational investment. As the country undergoes significant reforms in culture, education, and entertainment, Saudis are embracing these opportunities with enthusiasm and curiosity. This is exemplified by the growing interest in Japanese culture. Around 600 Saudi students are currently studying in Japan, reflecting their admiration and respect for Japan's rich heritage. Additionally, Arab News, Saudi Arabia's leading English newspaper, has opened an office in Japan, further symbolising this cultural bridge. Such steps, though tentative, mark a significant shift. Saudis are no longer the unknown, reserved people they once were; they are eager to engage and explore new horizons. This is evident in their participations in film festivals, collaborations with cultural institutions, academic exchanges, and more. This presents a unique opportunity for deeper cooperation. By investing in cultural and people-to-people exchanges, we can build stronger, more meaningful partnerships that enrich all involved.
