🌍 Last week, the Knowledge Center Legal Aid System of the Dutch Legal Aid Board had the honor of participating in the OECD Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice in Ottawa, Canada. The roundtable brought together experts from across the globe to discuss critical challenges and opportunities in ensuring access to justice for all. A key theme was the importance of understanding justice needs and experiences — understanding the real-life experiences of people seeking justice and how legal systems can better serve their needs. At the Knowledge Center Legal Aid System, we believe that evidence-based insights are essential to creating a justice system that works for everyone. By closely monitoring how people interact with legal aid services, we can provide valuable data that directly informs evidence-based policy. This approach is helping us create a legal system that truly responds to the needs of those it serves. By sharing research findings and innovative approaches, this roundtable helped strengthen international collaboration and enhance our ability to deliver equal access to justice.
