Observing an intriguing trend in gear cracks! 🔍 Expanding on my previous discovery, I've encountered additional gears displaying a similar crack pattern: cracks appearing inside the gear along the teeth and nearly on the thickest profile of the teeth! This observation has sparked a question: what could be causing this phenomenon? As Mojtaba Izadi pointed out, if the cracks were solely attributed to the surface hardening process applied on the teeth, the interior should exhibit more ductility and less cracking. Process Needs: Identify specific processes such as stitching type, seam finishes, trims, and additional operations (e.g., embroidery, applique). Quality Standards: Define the quality requirements for the new product. 2. Line Preparation Machine Setup: Identify the type and number of swing machines required (lockstitch, overlock, chain stitch, etc.). Attachments and Tools: Procure any special attachments or accessories needed for the product. Workstation Layout: Reorganize the production line to optimize the workflow for the new product. 3. Skill Assessment and Training Assess the skill level of the operators on the production line. Conduct training for operators on new techniques or machinery required for the product. Provide visual aids and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reference. 4. Pre-Production Planning Sample Development: Create prototypes to test the production feasibility and resolve any issues. Time and Motion Study: Conduct a study to determine the standard time for each operation and balance the line accordingly. Line Balancing: Distribute tasks evenly across the operators to avoid bottlenecks. Material Readiness: Ensure all materials (fabric, trims, threads, etc.) are tested and approved for production. 5. Pilot Run Perform a pilot production run to identify challenges in real time. Monitor productivity, quality, and workflow. Refine processes and adjust machinery or tools as needed. 6. Full-Scale Production Begin full-scale production once the pilot run is successful. Monitor production closely for the first batch to ensure consistency. Continuously collect feedback from operators and inspectors to address any issues. 7. Quality Control Implement inline and end-of-line quality checks. Use templates or gauges to ensure consistency in product dimensions and stitches. Document defects to identify and address recurring issues. 8. Efficiency Monitoring Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like efficiency, defect rates, and production time. Use feedback to optimize processes and reduce waste. 9. Post-Production Analysis Evaluate the overall performance of the production line for the new product. Make improvements based on lessons learned for future products.
