Today, we wake up to a world a little dimmer, with the heartbreaking news of Ratan Tata’s passing. It's not just India that mourns; the entire world has lost a visionary whose humility, wisdom, and kindness left an imprint on countless lives. For me, and I’m sure for many of us, Ratan Tata wasn’t just a business leader — he was a beacon of hope, an example of what leadership should look like. He led with grace, with purpose, and with a genuine desire to make the world a better place. I vividly remember watching him navigate crises and opportunities with the same calm dignity, always focused on the greater good, always asking how he could help uplift others. He didn’t just build an empire. He built dreams. His decisions were always about people — from providing affordable cars to the common man with the Tata Nano to ensuring his employees always felt valued and respected. And his work with Tata Trusts showed us that success isn't measured in profits, but in how much you give back to society. Ratan Tata had a unique ability to connect with everyone, whether you were a factory worker, a young entrepreneur, or a global leader. His words, his actions, and his heart always reminded us that true greatness lies in humility. I believe his greatest legacy isn't in the iconic brands he built, but in the values he lived by — integrity, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference. He showed us that leadership is not just about the decisions you make in boardrooms but the lives you impact outside of them. As we say goodbye to a man who changed the course of history, I find solace in knowing that his spirit will live on through the countless people he inspired. I invite you all to read a more detailed tribute we’ve prepared at Hospitalitynews, where we honour his life’s journey, the impact he had on so many, and the lessons we can all carry forward from his remarkable leadership. #rip# #RatanTata #LegacyOfLeadership #VisionaryLeader #Inspiration #IndianIndustry #BusinessIcon #Philanthropy #LeadershipWithHeart #RememberingRatanTata #Hospitalitynews #tatagroups #tatatrust Join us in remembering Ratan Tata — https://lnkd.in/gw9j8Ar5

Ratan Tata’s legacy transcends his achievements, leaving a deep imprint on both the business and social landscape of India. Like the timeless values that define hospitality, his legacy shows us that while the world is ephemeral, what remains is the positive impact we leave behind. In hospitality, much like in business, it’s the commitment to integrity, compassion, and uplifting others that endures. At Summit Hotels, we strive to build a legacy of excellence and warm hospitality. Much like Tata’s philanthropic ethos, we believe that businesses should always look beyond profit and prioritize the well-being of communities. In hospitality, where experiences are fleeting, it’s the care, empathy, and quality we extend to guests that stays in their hearts, long after the stay ends. Ratan Tata's journey reminds us that while success may fade, the legacy we create—through positive contributions, meaningful connections, and inspiring leadership—is what truly lasts. #LegacyOfHospitality #RatanTata #SummitHotels #Enduring #Impact #hospitality #summithotels

Truly a Global Visionary & Geeat Leader He defined the role of leadership, mentorship and statesmanship.
RATAN N TATA 1937 - 2024 It’s difficult to find the right words to describe the magnitude of the loss so many of us feel today. The world has lost a visionary leader and a titan of industry. RNT’s impact extended far beyond the business world he helped shape at the helm of Tata. For twelve years, I had the extraordinary honor of working with and learning from him. He didn’t just change the course of industry - he changed lives, mine included. His principles, his deep sense of duty to others, and his love for India were boundless. Many knew him as the man who led a salt-to-steel empire, but I saw him as a man who redefined what it meant to welcome others, to serve them with not just luxury, but with humanity. Ratan Tata believed that a hotel wasn’t just a place for guests to stay—it was a home, a sanctuary. And within its walls, everyone, from the guests to the staff who made the magic happen, deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. That was his vision, and he made sure it came to life in every corner of the Taj Hotels. He didn’t just set new standards for luxury—he championed the idea that hospitality is about creating experiences that touch people deeply. He created spaces where everyone felt seen, valued, and appreciated. That’s who Ratan Tata was—a man who made sure that kindness and compassion were at the core of everything he did. We’ve lost a giant today, a man whose legacy will stretch long beyond his years. But for those of us lucky enough to have been guided by his hand, we carry his lessons with us. He’s gone, but his spirit—his commitment to making the world a kinder, better place—will always remain. May God Bless You. Raymond N Bickson BICKSON HOSPITALITY GROUP New York, New York USA

The passing of 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚 has left a profound impact, not just in the world of business, but in the hearts of so many people. He wasn’t just a business leader; he was a symbol of 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 in a world that often values profits over people. One of the moments that truly showed who Ratan Tata was at his core was during the 26/11 𝐌𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐢 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬. When the horrific attack unfolded at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Ratan Tata, at the age of 70, wasn’t just an onlooker from afar. He stood outside the hotel for 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬, alongside his people. Through it all, Ratan Tata ensured that the spirit of Mumbai, and the values the Taj stood for, wouldn’t be broken. But it wasn’t just his presence during the attacks that showed his true character. Afterward, Ratan Tata made sure the families of those who had lost their lives were taken care of. He promised that they would receive the salaries their loved ones would have earned for the rest of their lives. He even visited the homes of the victims. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬? 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 21 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤, the The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) 𝐓𝐚𝐣 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝, standing tall once again. It was more than just a reopening, it was Ratan Tata’s determination to honor the lives lost and the unbreakable spirit of Mumbai. Ratan Tata’s legacy reminds us that being a good human being is the most important quality, no matter what industry you’re in. 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, he showed that true leadership means putting people first. 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲. How Mukesh Ambani Saved Oberoi Hotels & Resorts from a Hostile Takeover by ITC Limited In the 1990s, ITC Limited, a conglomerate with a significant presence in the hotel industry, gradually acquired a substantial stake in EIH Ltd, the parent company of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. By 2010, ITC Limited held over 14% of the company’s shares, raising concerns within the Oberoi family that ITC Limited might attempt a hostile takeover, given its growing influence. At this critical juncture, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, entered the scene. In a strategic move, Reliance Industries Limited invested ₹1,021 crore in EIH, purchasing a 14.12% stake. This partnership provided Oberoi Hotels & Resorts with a crucial buffer, diluting ITC Limited’s influence and effectively thwarting any potential hostile takeover attempt. Ambani’s investment was seen as a white knight intervention, helping the Oberoi family maintain control over the company. #hedgefunds #HedgeFunds #FinanceSuccess #CareerInspiration #InvestmentBanking #FinanceCareers #WallStreet #Motivation #SuccessStory #HedgeFundManagers #WealthManagement

This is the entrance of the Taj Mahal Hotel, one of the most luxurious and finest hotels in the country. During my stay, as I started my day, I noticed a living being sleeping peacefully in the same spot, seemingly carefree. My curiosity led me to ask the hotel staff about him, and I learned that he has been a part of the hotel since birth. There are strict instructions from Mr. Ratan Tata to treat these animals well if they enter the premises. What inspired me to write this is the realization that this place, home to numerous guests ranging from political dignitaries to national and international celebrities, values every being within its walls. The entrance of such a prestigious establishment holds significant importance, and there he was, peacefully sleeping, perhaps unnoticed by many of the guests. Amidst the chaos, he owns the place, finding his sanctuary. This scenario highlighted a profound truth for me: in the midst of leading and driving business while being customer-obsessed, the true soul of a business is reflected in how it treats others. We often speak about inclusion, biases, psychological safety, and emotional intelligence. I witnessed all these principles in action here. It’s a fine balance of head and heart, being authentic, and not worrying about what others might think as they enter this esteemed property. You can be the most successful entrepreneur, but that should never stop you from respecting and embracing everyone. It's about believing in oneself and living that belief every day. This also brought to mind the debate on adopting versus buying pets. What this scenario taught me is that it’s a personal choice, and one should not be judged for it. Ultimately, it’s about doing what you believe in and contributing towards the cause.
