#Day4 Kickstart Goal Setting for 2025 Your love eating Pizza, but can you eat it all in one go? No, you slice it and then take smaller bites to finish it. Similarly, however easy or difficult a goal, you need to break it into smaller more manageable steps to achieve it successfully.

Week 11 of the 52 New Stoic Practices for a Fulfilling Life focuses on moderation in eating. Food, a universal pleasure, comes with its own set of challenges, according to Stoic thought, necessitating this week's emphasis on curbing cravings to enhance self-control. For me, this topic hits close to home as food represents a significant challenge in restraint; I tend to eat quickly and in large quantities. Throughout this week, I consciously attempted to limit portions, slow down my eating pace, avoid snacks during the day (though not always successfully), and postpone meals until a natural break in my work, rather than interrupting tasks midway. The initial days were relatively straightforward, but by mid-week, I craved sweets intensely. Substituting these with a dinner of sour milk cheese with peanut butter and honey helped me maintain control and adhere to the Stoic discipline. Concluding the week, I've decidedly internalized this Stoic lesson and intend to continue practising it. Food, my greatest adversary, becomes manageable with discipline, empowering me to effortlessly regulate other desires. #Stoicism #SelfControl #MindfulEating #LifeLessons #PersonalGrowth

Week 1: Relationships and Food (continued) Ep 3 (Tuesday): 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽 Hey my friends, it's Dr. Renetta, Remember how I told you about my breakup and how I turned to food for comfort? Well, today I want to dive deeper into that comfort food trap I fell into. After the breakup, I found myself reaching for all the foods we used to enjoy together. That pint of ice cream we'd share during movie nights? I'd demolish it alone, spoonful after spoonful of creamy comfort. Those late-night pizza orders? I'd still make them, even though I was eating for one now. Every bite was like a bittersweet memory. Sweet because it reminded me of happier times, bitter because I was alone. But in those moments of eating, I felt a temporary relief from the pain. The problem was, that relief was short-lived. As soon as I put down the fork or spoon, the emptiness would come rushing back. And you know what I'd do then? Reach for more food. It became a cycle I couldn't seem to break. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a long, complicated journey with emotional eating. Want to know what happened next? Well, I gotta go for now. So come back tomorrow to find out how this comfort eating started to spill over into other areas of my life. Are you caught in the comfort food trap? Check the comments. ⬇️ #girlitsanewday #anewdaymethod #reinvent #reimagine

I am not preaching; I am a sinner too. Not a suprise that what we put into our bodies has a direct impact on how we feel and think. If I could run on Doritos, Coke, and Twizzlers, trust me, I would! I have learned that those choices give me brain fog, a body I do not want, and I am not the best version of myself. When this happens, it not only affects me, but also my team and my family who rely on me. I am not saying to jump straight from junk to clean eating. Instead, consider small shifts: -Skip the chips with your lunch. -Cut down your pop to just one a day, and then aim for zero. -Reduce the number of beers or glasses of wine in an evening. -Drink more water, our body is about 60% water. I am still going to enjoy a drink now and then (we do own a wine bar, after all), but keeping it in check has been key to staying sharp. These small changes have helped me get better day by day. And if even one of them helps you feel more focused, then it is worth me sharing. #MentalClarity #HealthyHabits #FuelYourBody #ProgressNotPerfection #BetterEveryDay #LearningFromMyMistakes
