Eight Quality Requirements in the Production Process of Aluminum Profiles for Electronic Heat Sinks
We are a professional manufacturer specializing in custom heat sink aluminum profiles, with extensive experience. After summarizing our knowledge, we have identified eight key requirements for aluminum profiles used in electronic heat sinks. Meeting these eight aspects will greatly improve the product yield and quality of heat sinks.
1. The surface of the heat sink should be free of defects such as shrinkage, rust, or cracks.
2. The metal fasteners (pressure plates, caps, disc springs) for flat heat sinks, as well as the conductive plates for water-cooled heat sinks, should be coated for protection.
3. The maximum allowable surface roughness (Ra) for the aluminum profile surface of the heat sink should be 3.2µm.
4. The flatness of the aluminum profile surface for the heat sink should not be lower than Grade 9.
5. Aluminum profiles for heat sinks used with power semiconductor devices in humid and hot environments (including heat sink bodies, fasteners, and insulating parts) should undergo protective treatment. Their resistance to moisture, salt spray, and mold should meet the relevant tropical power semiconductor device standards.
6. The fasteners and insulating parts used for aluminum profile heat sinks should comply with GB/T 446.3 (insulating parts and fasteners for heat sinks used in power semiconductor devices).
7. The fastening torque or pressure for aluminum profile heat sinks and power semiconductors should meet the relevant provisions of the device product standards.
8. For flat heat sinks, the installation center locating pin dimensions for the aluminum profile surface are: diameter 2.5mm, height 1mm above the surface.
