AQUALLIANCE is more than a project; it’s an alliance to promote innovative aquaponics systems products that integrate fish farming with plant cultivation and improve the consumer's literacy. Maybe it’s because I am just back from #ClimateWeek in NYC or maybe it’s because I am neck deep in finalizing details for the 2024 Regenerative Food Systems Investment Forum, but I'm tired of seeing arguments that regenerative agriculture is not the climate solution that it’s cracked up to be because let's face it - it's not... IT IS MUCH MORE. Regenerative agriculture is climate solution AND… a solution for environmental degradation, human health, farmer well-being, and so much more. So... 🌎 If you care about climate, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 🏭 If you care about scope 3 emissions, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 🌱 If you care about biodiversity loss, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 🤎 If you care about soil health, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 📈 If you care about farmer well-being - and their declining farm incomes and the increasing pressure from input costs - you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 🌊 If you care about water quality, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 🧑🏾🌾 If you care about an equitable and just food system, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 💸 If you care about the long-term value of your nature-based assets, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. 💪 If you care about long-term resilience of our systems and your investments, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment. We can not solve climate in a silo - and we can not invest in climate in a silo, unattached to any of the systems around it. Regenerative agriculture and food systems have the ability to positively impact far more than just climate, making investments into them much more than a climate solution… and far more powerful. Yes indeed ! Regenerative agriculture is much more than a climate solution. Just to add to the very aptly summarised points of Sarah De Levesque If you care about your very own health and the health of your kin, you should consider regenerative agriculture as an investment - an investment that should be prioritised above any and all other investments. Just look around at the health pandemics humanity is being confronted with. It is intricately linked to the foods of commercial agriculture which has totally bypassed the regenerative approach. Yes ! By all means, investments in regenerative agriculture should be prioritised to save the planet and humanity.
