As a photographer, color grading has always been close to my heart. It’s more than just tweaking colors; it’s about creating an emotional connection and defining the mood of the shot. Here’s a quick look at a recent project I did for a client – a simple “before” and “after” that shows how the right tones can completely transform an image. 💡 Why I Love Color Grading: • It lets me experiment with different tones to bring out the best in a shot. • It shapes the mood, helping the viewer feel exactly what I want them to feel. • It’s all about using light and colors to evoke emotions. Let me know what you think 👇🏼 #PhotographyJourney #ColorGradingMagic #BeforeAndAfter #CreativeProcess #LightingAndColors #ContentCreation #PhotographersOfLinkedIn #ColorTheory #CreateWithPassion

Love this shot although I would have done 1 thing different, can you guess what? Clear branding ✅ Great smile ✅ Space for text ✅ Lighting on face ❌ This shot is the type of photography I think I do well 😊 Real people Real life Real brands It has so much going for it but one thing (I'm my mind) that let’s it down is the lighting on his face. In many shops, factories, offices they have harsh down lights. It you are standing under it then it's going to make your nose look like a beak and you're eyes will be cast in shadows. To many people that wouldn't bother them but for me it's 😖 The thing is all they had to do was move the person a little and problem was solved 😁 👇Check in the comments on how I shot a similar photo. Same type of lighting, I just got her to move around to find the best lighting. It's the little things that help make a photo look great. Do you agree or am I just being a bit picky? #photography #peoplephotography #staffphotography

Let's shed some light on transforming your products' appeal. Photography is all about light. By controlling the lighting on your products, you can set a mood that matches your brand and story. Want a natural look? Try natural light or diffused light. Want to make a bold statement? Direct or hard lighting will create dramatic shadows and draw the eye. The color of your light affects an image too! Warm light is more of a yellow tone. Cool light is more bluish. Want to reveal texture? Allow the light to play across the surface of your product to highlight the finish. The direction of your lighting also plays a role. You can also add depth, dimension and interest by creating shadows in your scene. These can make your product pop from the background! If you are a D.I.Y.'er for your business' product photography, keep this information handy so you can try new lighting techniques at your next shoot. Want to contract your photography out and save headaches? Reach out and let's discuss how I may be of assistance! #lighting #photography #productphotography

When we rebranded to JaxMore Creative Photography, we knew our logo had to reflect what truly sets us apart. Many photographers choose a camera for their logo — a symbol of their craft. For us, though, the magic lies not in the tool, but in how we use light. Lighting is at the heart of every photograph we create. It shapes the mood, highlights the details, and tells the story in ways no camera alone can achieve. Our expertise lies in crafting and sculpting light to create images that stand out. That’s why the light takes centre stage in our logo — it’s a nod to the skill and artistry that define our work. We have immense respect for every photographer’s approach to their craft, whether their logo features a camera or something entirely different. For us, the choice was simple: shine a light on what we believe truly makes photography beautiful. What does your logo mean to you? We’d love to hear your thoughts! When we look at a photo, we often instantly feel: "Wow, this is amazing!". But what exactly makes an image high-quality? Today, I’m sharing key criteria to help you understand why one photo stands out while another falls flat. 📸SHARPENESS and DETAIL The main subject should be in focus, with no unnecessary blur or softness (unless it’s a creative choice). 📸 LIGHTING – the king of photography A photo should be well-lit. No overexposed or overly dark areas – everything should be balanced. Shadows should enhance, not hide, the beauty. 📸NATURAL COLOURS White balance ensures realistic colors: whites look white, not yellow or blue. Vibrant and harmonious tones are signs of a professional approach. 📸 COMPOSITION – the artful foundation A well-placed subject guides the viewer’s eye and creates harmony. Principles like the golden ratio or rule of thirds make a big difference. 📸 EMOTION and STORYTELLING A great photo isn’t just beautiful – it tells a story or evokes emotions. This is what makes an image truly special. When booking a photo session, pay attention to these aspects. Trust in your photographer begins with understanding why their work captivates you.
