A Run in Support of Peace and Non-Violence. Yet, I wonder how many runs will be enough? Just few weeks ago, we all came together for the Ahimsa Run organized by Jain International Trade Organisation . As the word suggests it was a day filled with hope, unity, and the shared goal of spreading peace and non-violence. As we reflect on that day, my heart is heavy with the ongoing violence in Palestine, especially in Rafah. Families are torn apart, homes are destroyed, and lives are lost. It's a reminder of why we must stand together for peace. The Ahimsa Run was not just a physical activity; it’s was symbol of our dedication to peace and non-violence. Each step we take in unity sends a powerful message against hatred and war. Here are some ways we can help make things better in the ongoing conflict: 1. Raise Awareness: We can share information about the situation in Palestine with our network, by using social media to spread the word and tag organizations like UNICEF and United Nations (know more? tag them below) 2. Donate: We can support organizations that are providing aid to those affected by the conflict. Maybe consider donating to charities like the International Red Cross, UNICEF, or local Palestinian support groups. Together, we can create a kind, peaceful, and make this world a better to live in! Know of more ways we can help? drop them in the comments below!

A very interesting talk with our CEO and president David Miliband and Kamran Abbasi for the BMJ Christmas appeal. There is indeed a necessity of navigating complex political landscapes to ensure aid delivery and protection for health services. Moreover, the broader implications of global health governance, suggesting that the weakening of democratic institutions has led to a decline in the protection of civilian rights, including access to healthcare during conflicts. The dialogue prompted several critical reflections: Reversing Political Trends: How might the global community reverse the "march of impunity" and the concurrent "democratic recession"? This question beckons for a global introspection on how to restore accountability in conflict zones, ensuring that attacks on healthcare are met with international condemnation and legal repercussions. Democratic Action: With democracy in retreat, which specific measures should democratic nations adopt to halt and reverse this trend? Miliband's dialogue suggests a need for robust diplomatic engagements, economic sanctions, or support for international legal frameworks to deter such violations. Reinforcing International Norms: What practical steps are required to enforce international laws and norms in regions like Gaza, where the daily reality of conflict defies these principles? The conversation hints at the necessity for more than just rhetoric; it calls for tangible mechanisms like peacekeeping forces, international monitoring, or enhanced roles for organizations like the IRC in rebuilding health infrastructures post-conflict. #HealthInConflict #NotATarget

Thank you, Danila Z. for this important testimony. Not only does #Syria face enormous challenges from a geopolitical and poverty point of view, but even if the armed violence ends today, the nation is also left with one of the most highly-polluted territories on earth from an explosive remnants of war perspective. What this means for all of those returning is years or perhaps decades of co-habitation among extremely deadly ordnance in many regions. Who will prioritize this work?
Danila Zizi, HI's Syria Country Director, spoke on LBC News last week. Hear what she has to say about the current situation in #Syria. We’ve been working in Syria since 2012, helping those people injured by the violence, supporting displaced families, and addressing the catastrophic contamination caused by deadly remnants of war. But right now, a huge increase in support is needed, and we have the chance to act. Could you help us reach as many people as possible? Donate now: https://lnkd.in/eHkQ36k4

"In the Cold Embrace of Winter: A Story of Hope and Survival" In the harsh cold of winter, our children find warmth not in blankets or homes, but in each other’s arms. Look at these little ones, holding each other close, trying to protect each other from the freezing winds and relentless rain. They are just children. Innocent, full of dreams, and yet forced to grow up far too soon. These images are a powerful reminder of the brutal reality they face every single day. The warmth of their embrace is a symbol of the love that exists, even when everything else seems to be falling apart. Meanwhile, these two sisters look out with eyes filled with questions. They wonder, "Why is it so cold? Why are we living like this? Where is our home?" Their innocent gazes are a silent cry for the basic things every child deserves: safety, warmth, and a roof over their heads. But in the winter of war, these children are left to face the cold, the rain, and the ever-looming threat of hunger and illness. They need us. They need our help to survive, to stay warm, and to find the hope they so desperately deserve. #Donate Now to give them the warmth and safety they need to feel like children again. Together, we can make sure they no longer have to face the world alone. Together, we can bring hope back into their lives. https://gofund.me/80d75b89 #Gaza #Palestine #WinterOfWar #ChildrenOfGaza #GazaSuffering #HopeForGaza #HelpGaza #DonateToSave #StandWithPalestine #SaveOurChildren GoFundMe Charity Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) Stand With Palestine UNRWA UNICEF Reviving Gaza Save Gaza Campaign HEAL Palestine
