Last week, Croda Foundation announced the exciting news, that together with the unwavering support of its project partners, it had sustainably improved the lives of 22.8 million people around the world! 👏 The Foundation, established in 2020, is an independent charitable company set up by Croda International Plc. It is solely funded by generous donations from Croda and led by an independent Board of Trustees. But what exactly does it mean to sustainably improve lives? For Croda Foundation, this means creating long-term resilience in underserved communities through projects that are replicable, scalable and measurable. Resources mobilization for the not-for-profit organizations is becoming more and more complex due to the emergence of many charitable organizations which are competing for the relatively small funding sources. It's Women's Entrepreneurship Day today. Sky McLaughlin, Ph.D, CCIP and I are among the 17% of Canadian small and medium business enterprises that are women-owned. In our 4 year entrepreneurship journey we've shared laughs, faced our fears, held each other up, broken down in tears, got beaten, dusted ourselves off and continued. And we know we're not alone as this is the entrepreneurship journey. So a big round of applause to all of the incredible women entrepreneurs we have met along the way. Especially to those we've met through Alberta Women Entrepreneurs, The Forum and Canadian Women's Chamber of Commerce (CanWCC). We see you, we applaud you!! Our purpose for starting our business is to help organizations and individuals feel like they belong. We do that in our facilitation, training, strategy and culture work. And while we have always given part of our revenues to various charitable organizations throughout the years, we decided to create an endowment fund that will help charities sustainably in perpetuity.
