AI is not going to implement itself, but governments can help The AI hype has passed, and the overexcited futurists' voices are mercifully fading away. We're now entering a practical era where AI is leveraged to boost productivity in businesses, non-profit, and public organizations. This shift brings a sobering realization: AI integration requires a meticulous, pragmatic approach to build reliable and trustworthy systems. It's a lot of work and requires some strategy. When a single person manages a well-defined workflow, integrating AI is relatively straightforward. It's easy to incorporate AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to assist with ad copy, reports, or applications. The beauty of these scenarios lies in their simplicity - the user acts as both operator and quality controller, immediately judging the output's effectiveness... https://lnkd.in/gGBBUu6v

Brilliant content on how AI can help c-suite and knowledge workers to do their work faster and better. The challenge is to get over your (our) own ego. “Last year, #Boston Consulting Group, #Harvard Business School, and #Wharton released a study that compared two groups of #BCG consultants — those with access to AI and those without. The consultants with AI completed 12% more tasks and did so 25% faster. They also produced results their bosses thought were 40% better. Consultants are knowledge workers and AI is their Super Soldier Serum” https://lnkd.in/duWDVNdw “I prompt the AI: “Pretend to be a hard-charging venture capitalist board member expecting strong growth. Give me three insights and three recommendations about our progress and plan. ChatGPT-4’s performance was breathtaking. AI returned 90% of the same comments or insights our human board made. They were able to suggest the same priorities the board did (with the associated tradeoffs) — including driving enterprise value, balancing growth and cash runway, and taking on more technology risk.” “The hardest part of working with AI isn’t learning to prompt. It’s managing your own ego and admitting you could use some help. So get over your immediate defense mechanism — “AI can never do what I do” — and use it to do what you do, just better. https://lnkd.in/dgHxaT6Y P.s. Also check the link for 6 #prompt suggestions But beware “When consultants employed AI in areas beyond its competence, their work's quality and accuracy diminished compared to a control group. This underscores the importance of understanding AI's 'Jagged Frontiers' to optimize its use and mitigate potential shortcomings in professional settings.” https://lnkd.in/dCpyxsJF

Last week, we got together in our offices and online to discover how current AI tools could help non-coding consultants. We discussed current AI technology, what it can do, and the challenges and dived into customer understanding, data-driven analysis, and AI in testing. Learning together from peer-to-peer by exploring the tools, sharing ideas, and gaining knowledge–what could be better? Here are some key takeaways for you: ⭐ AI tools for developers provide daily value. Other roles still need their own solutions. ⭐ When critical thinking is needed, ask AI to elaborate on how a solution works instead of asking AI to elaborate on the pitfalls. ⭐ When looking for up-to-date information, use WebChatGPT or another tool that makes different AI solutions to search for answers to the same question. ⭐ Currently available AIs can’t do anything a human can do better. AIs are faster in producing alternatives, lists, and summaries. #welearneveryday #efilife

Over the past couple of years, healthcare organizations have been making significant investments in the world of artificial intelligence (AI). We have seen a number of avenues different organizations are taking with their new AI tool: from interpreting medical images to integrating LLMs into their electronic medical records (EMRs). And it’s not just the large healthcare organizations that are looking to invest in AI as a future value driver, so are healthcare startups. In fact, a recent report by Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a division of First Citizens Bank, shows that $2.8 billion has already been invested in AI healthcare companies as of June 2024, with SVP projecting that figure to reach over $11B in venture capital investments by year-end, the highest it has been since 2021. But before healthcare organizations can truly implement AI, specific security criteria need to be established to keep their data secure. What am I up to now? Mostly AI. Stepping back, progress is the ultimate motivator for me, and today, there’s no bigger enabler of progress in organizations than AI. Business leaders often don’t know what to do with it.. beyond playing around with ChatGPT or perhaps telling their teams they should “do something that helps us” with AI. You’re very aware of the hype. You’ve heard there are different LLMs that excel at different things. Here’s what I see: AI infrastructure has massively outpaced an organizations ability to implement practical solutions. That’s where ForwardPath comes in. We’re here to bridge the gap. We help accelerate your organization toward an AI-embedded work environment. This probably is you today: • You read the hype and headlines on AI. • You have seen your teams using ChatGPT, but you have no guidelines or policies in place. • You haven’t identified key areas where AI can create value, and maybe you’re hoping someone else will figure it out. • You don’t have an action plan you trust. Perhaps you’re thinking, “Maybe this will get easier to figure out if I wait?” You’re in the majority. You know you’re behind, and now is the time to do something about it. I’m committed to building a team and company with a “Consultancy 2.0” model. One that rivals the big downtown firms who are pitching you multi-year, million-dollar "roadmaps". What you need is more speed, more practical applications, less scoping exercises. More exploration and learning, more progress. Less strategy, less fluff. Move faster and get more done with us. I have been contemplating how to integrate #AI into #clinicalresearch to reduce time spent on tedious tasks. Our #IRB has had a significant rise in the number of studies they need to review and there must be ways to automate things like pre-review. Our team also spends significant time rewriting documents for new templates, updating language based on new #regulatory requirements and more. Clinical researchers, how are you using AI? This morning I asked ChatGPT for ideas on how to automate moving study information from one template (from an outside institution) to another. Here were the ideas: 1. Text Extraction & Reorganization: Use AI to extract and reorganize sections from your old template to fit the new structure seamlessly. 2. Content Summarization: Leverage AI tools to summarize lengthy sections if the new template requires concise information. 3. Consistency Checks: Ensure consistent terminology, formatting, and style throughout the document. 4. Data Entry Automation: Automate the transfer of content, minimizing manual data entry. 5. Quality Assurance: Utilize AI to compare old and new documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Steps to Utilize AI for Protocol Reformatting: 1. Document Parsing: Use AI to parse the old template, identifying and extracting key sections and data points. 2. Template Mapping: Create a mapping between the old template’s sections and the new template’s questions and structure. 3. Text Reorganization: Automatically transfer and reformat the content to fit the new template. 4. Review and Edit: Manually review the AI-generated document to ensure accuracy and completeness, making necessary edits. 5. Final QA: Perform a final quality assurance check to ensure the document meets all requirements. Have you tried AI in your research role? Tell me how! Let’s make our work more efficient and enjoyable. #ClinicalResearch #AI #HealthcareInnovation #ProtocolReformatting *Image generated with Dalle, not responsible for AI typos in the picture. Image generation still has some flaws in my experience.

Accelerating AI Adoption in Your Company: Give Your Employees AI Tools AI is changing the way businesses operate, and it's happening fast. Companies that give their employees ample access to AI tools are more likely to be successful. By doing this, they can encourage innovation and get more out of the Technology. A recent Wall Street Journal article showed how Moderna, a biotech company, is using OpenAI's GPT models to change many parts of their business. Employees at Moderna are making their own "GPTs", sharing them with others in the company, and even building working prototypes. This approach has helped them work more efficiently and try new things. https://lnkd.in/g9Zhie4Q The key is to trust your employees and give them the tools they need to be creative. By making AI models like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, Google's Gemini, and Meta's Llama available to everyone in your company, you can use the knowledge and skills of all your workers to bring AI into every part of your business. You might be wondering: Which AI model should I choose? Who should be trained and how? How do I prioritize and measure use cases? How can we share results so everyone learns? And how do we turn prototypes or GPTs into solutions that can be used by many people? These are all important questions to consider when bringing AI into your company. At Aeonix Tech, we think every company can benefit from AI, just like Moderna and other are. Our experts can help you figure out how to add AI to your business in a way that makes sense. Why Explainable AI (XAI) Matters in Today's World As artificial intelligence continues to transform industries, Explainable AI (XAI) has emerged as a crucial aspect in building trust and transparency in AI systems. In sectors such as healthcare, finance, and legal services, the ability to understand why and how AI arrives at decisions is no longer just a "nice-to-have"—it’s a necessity. Use Cases of XAI: 1. Healthcare: XAI helps doctors understand the reasoning behind AI-diagnosed treatment plans, ensuring human experts can validate and trust the system's output. 2. Finance: In credit scoring and loan approvals, XAI provides transparency, reducing bias and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 3. Legal: Lawyers can leverage XAI to explain algorithmic decisions in cases involving AI, offering clarity and accountability. 4. HR & Recruitment: With XAI, hiring platforms can justify candidate rankings and decisions, fostering fairness and reducing bias. Why is Explainability Important? - Trust: Users are more likely to adopt AI systems when they understand how decisions are made. - Compliance: In heavily regulated sectors, explaining AI decisions helps organizations stay compliant with local and international regulations. - Bias Detection: XAI allows organizations to detect and correct biases embedded within models, promoting fairness and inclusivity. - Improved Decision-Making: When users can interpret AI outputs, they can make better-informed decisions, backed by both human insight and machine analysis. How to Achieve Explainable AI: 1. Model Simplicity: Use models like decision trees, which are naturally interpretable, or break down complex models into understandable parts. 2. Feature Attribution: Implement techniques like SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) to highlight the features contributing most to a model’s predictions. 3. Clear Communication: Simplify AI language. Avoid jargon, and use visual aids and relatable analogies to explain how the model operates. 4. Continuous Learning: Engage with interdisciplinary teams—engineers, data scientists, legal advisors—to ensure the explanations resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. As we continue to integrate AI into critical decision-making processes, fostering accountability and transparency through explainable AI is key to driving ethical AI adoption. #ExplainableAI #XAI #AIethics #TrustInAI #AIFuture #TransparencyInTech
