- On 1 July 2024, Krones Recycling GmbH, under the management of Dr Michael Gotsche, commenced business operations with headquarters in Flensburg. - The newly founded company takes over all activities relating to plastics recycling, but continues to utilise Krones' global production, sales and service network. - The spin-off emphasises the growing significance of the recycling sector and the important role that Krones Recycling plays in achieving Krones' sustainability goals. The demand for recycled plastics is increasing rapidly worldwide: consumer awareness is growing, companies are setting themselves ever more ambitious sustainability targets and recycling requirements from international governments are also increasing. As a company with almost 30 years of experience in plastics processing and almost 25 years in the field of recycling, Krones has now taken the pioneering decision to pool its recycling expertise in the independent subsidiary Krones Re-cycling GmbH from July 2024. A logical step, as Krones CEO Christoph Klenk explains: "The spin-off will enable Krones Recycling to develop faster and in line with market requirements. Because in line with our claim Solutions beyond tomorrow, this division makes a decisive contribution to protecting the environment by returning plastic waste to the value-added cycle." #Christoph Klenk #Dr. Michael Gotsche #featured #Krones #Krones Recycling Solutions #Krones_Recycling_GmbH #Processing_and_Packaging #Technology_Sustainability https://lnkd.in/gCXarP-z

🌱 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐬! 🌱 Millions of labels are processed in our factories and warehouses every year. These labels are held together with a release liner made of silicone-coated paper. The coating ensures that the labels are released from the roll at the right moment, which is essential for high-speed production. However, silicone disrupts the standard paper recycling process, so the release liner would typically be incinerated, unless it is collected separately for a custom recycling process designed for silicone-coated paper. Since May 2023, we have started separating the collection of release liner waste in both our Apeldoorn factory and warehouse. In a collaboration with label manufacturer Eshuis BV | Dalfsen, approximately 75% of the liner can be recycled into new products through UPM Raflatac’s RafCycle programme. The collection of release liner has been fully integrated into our daily operations. So far, we have collected about 6375 kg of backing paper, which has saved 4,8 tons of waste from incineration. ♻️ We are proud of this step improving the sustainability of our production process! #Sustainability #Recycling #RoyalTalens #GreenFuture

#Fakuma-Talk with Manfred Dobersberger, Managing Director at PureLoop GesmbH (Hall A6, Stand 3614) 📰 What makes Fakuma so special for you? 👨💼 For us, Fakuma is an important meeting place for the plastics industry. It offers us the ideal opportunity to maintain existing customer relationships and make new contacts. We value the trade fair as a platform for presenting our innovations in the field of plastics recycling. I look forward to exchanging ideas with trade fair visitors, especially on challenging topics such as the recycling of glass fiber-reinforced plastics or organic sheets. This is where our ISEC evo regranulation system can really show off its advantages. 📰 What are the "hot topics" for you this year? 👨💼 The focus topics of sustainability and circularity as well as the optimization of recycling processes coincide with our core business. Recyclability is also a current topic. We are currently focusing more on the recycling of products for which monomaterial solutions are not feasible or whose CO2 footprint would be significantly higher. Our task in the future will be to think more in terms of compounding in order to further develop regranulates in such a way that they meet the requirements - even if they are not monomaterials. We see inline compounding and the targeted optimization of plastics for recycling as great opportunities to create sustainable solutions. 📰 What should visitors look at your booth? 👨💼 At our stand, visitors should definitely see our problem-solving expertise for themselves. At Pure Loop, we also tackle the challenges where others see no solution. Our technologies create recycling solutions that go beyond the usual standards. My colleague Simon Oberfichtner and I will be on hand to answer any questions and provide in-depth insights. We cordially invite everyone to take a closer look at our innovative approaches to plastics recycling and to discuss with us how we can continue to advance the circular economy together. #recycling #recyclingmachines #recyclate #circulareconomy

Currently, the packaging industry is undergoing a transformation process from a linear to a circular economy. The aim is to reduce the consumption of fossil raw materials as well as the carbon footprint of the industry. Under current conditions, it is not possible to use recyclates from mechanical recycling for packaging that comes into contact with sensitive products. This prevents closed-loop recycling of these packagings. In order to close the loop, we need bridge technologies such as chemical recycling. At the ZLV Packaging Symposium organized by the University of Kempten on September 12 and 13 📅, Valeska Haux will give a talk about chemical recycling. In her position as Vice President Marketing & Sustainability at SÜDPACK, she is convinced of the need for closed-loop recycling of plastics. This technology is an essential component of a sustainable packaging industry 🌱. In the talk, she will present the innovative technology CARBOLIQ. What sets this technology apart is its wide processing window for different infeed materials as well as its high energy efficiency. Valeska Haux will also explain that a successful transformation in our industry requires not only recyclable products suitable for closed loops, but also holistic business models which involve all stakeholders along the value chain 🤝. 🔗Find details of the program and register here: https://lnkd.in/eg757sqG #chemicalrecycling #sustainability #SÜDPACK

🌎Today is Earth day, bringing businesses and individuals together on a collective #mission to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement world wide. This year’s theme is vital to our planet’s future health, #plastic. That’s why at QSRP we’ve been working for years to reduce our plastic. 🌳We concentrated our efforts into eliminating single use plastic items in our restaurants, replacing most of our products with non-plastic substitutes, and today single-use plastic items make up only 2.2% of our total packaging Group-wide. 🌱We shifted from plastic straws to paper based alternatives, which, together with paper lids, are only provided upon request and for take-away and drive-thru orders. 🌿Since 2018, NORDSEE GmbH has been part of the Mak-Pak research Project, partnering with Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and the Alfred-Wegner-Institut Bremerhaven. Backed by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the project is pioneering an #innovative, #biodegradable packaging material derived from #macroalgae. The next step will be to produce the packaging with an industrial machine and test it in one of NORDSEE’s stores. 👏 To learn more about #Planet Vs Plastics and join the movement for a #plasticfree future visit 👉 https://lnkd.in/g7TSpkQj Burger Brands Belgium Burger King Restaurants Italia O’Tacos Corporation O'Tacos International O'Tacos BeNeLux NORDSEE GmbH #EarthDay #EveryNumberMatters #QSRP #QSRPride #PlanetVsPlastics #sustainability
