One of the biggest lessons former Ultimate Fighting Championship and ONEFC flyweight champion Demetrious "Mighty" Johnson American former mixed martial artist ever learned is this: You don’t need to be perfect to be great. You don’t have to nail every single detail, every single time, to get where you want to go. Why? Because chasing perfection is a trap. The harder you chase it, the more it chews you up and spits you out. Stress, anxiety, fear of failure—they all pile up. You burn out. You waste time obsessing over things that don’t even matter in the long run. And guess what... It’s not sustainable. Progress isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being consistent. That one cheat meal, beer, or missed workout is not going to destroy your progress. One slip-up doesn’t erase the other 90% of the time you showed up, worked hard, and did what needed to be done. Perfection isn’t what separates winners from losers—consistency does. You don’t need to be perfect to build a great life, but you do need to show up and do the work.
